External extentions Hello! I noticed you said you had a programming guide and wanted to see if you were able to help us. Our phone administrator is being rather difficult and I can not find a programming guide online. One of our phones died so we replaced the phone and it is not not allowing people to call her phone directly from the outside. All other phones in the office all internal and external calls to be made. Her phone does allow internal calls but does not allow external calls. Could you please help? We have T7316e phones. Thank you so much.

SOURCE: Forwarding calls between extensions

Yes, press Feature 4, then enter the extension of the line you wish to forward the ring to. You can also go into the phone configuration to forward after a set # of rings. To ring another extension at set times you will need admin access.

Change time on phone system

Time and date is system wide programming and not the phone.
You need to read the Administration Guide that matches the phone system model you have. You also need to do it from the Administration phone, usually the 2 lowest ext #'s on the system.

Log In Mitel 5212 IP Phone trouble

Hi this is probably because the phone has gone to Hotdesk mode and your company blocks hotdesk phones from making external calls. You will need to log back into the phone. If you know your extention number you can press *96 on the phone you then need to enter your extention number and press # you then need to enter a pin number. If you do not know your oin or have not been given one try pressing # again if the phone reasks for the pin you will need to contact your systems administrator to reset your pin - Hope this helps (ps *97 loggs the phone out)

For assigning a person name to the extention

If you are using the KX-T7730 phone on a Panasonic KX-Txx 308 or 824 system.
From the Switchboard / Main telephone ( usually ext 101, 10 or 9 ) with the handset on the cradle/hook :
1. Press PROGRAM * # followed by the system password ( default is 1234).
2. Now press 604 and then SP-PHONE. Enter the jack number you wish to change ( 01 is extension 101, 02 is extension 102 etc. ).
3. Enter the name ( basically the same as texting on a cellphone ). Press AUTO DIAL / STORE to save your change.
4. To go to the next extension press SP-PHONE. Don’t forget to press AUTO DIAL / STORE to save your change after each name entered.
5. Press PROGRAM to exit program mode and you are done.

Answering machine

Your phone can be programmed to transfer a call to different places and have different rules for day-ring mode and night-ring mode.

Sounds like what you want to do is change your phone to transfer to another extension instead of your voice mail box. This would in effect eliminate your voice mail box because a call would never automatically be sent to it unless you use (and program correctly) night mode.

Your phone model type does not help resolve this. You can have this phone on different Panasonic phone systems. You will need to determine which phone system you have and locate "programming" manual for the specific system (not a user guide)

There should be a section or option called "no-answer forward", "forward timer", "forward extension" etc...

Ring and paging system

I have seen cases where programming can be messed up or even set back to default with rapid on-off-on-off power surges that often happen in power outages. The system will need to be re-programmed. I have never programmed an NEC system but here is what you need. Either find a local installation company that can fix this for you OR figure out which NEC phone system you have and locate the Programming and Installation manual for it. (not a user guide or administrator's manual) The phone's part number will not help you figure out which NEC system you have, it only narrows it down a bit. Look for the main control unit in the basement, utility closet, etc.. Programming any phone system can be daunting for someone who has not done it before even with the right manuals. If you are not up to it, look for a company that can help. MAKE SURE the system is defaulted before re-programming it! There could be a glitch in the programming that cannot be fixed without a system default so you want to do this before making any changes. Also, I would highly suggest a UPS backup power supply for the phone system. This will keep it running for a short time in a power outage and will stop this from happening again. If you have a small system with 1-12 phones, most small UPS systems made for computers will work. Small phone systems use less power than a computer and monitor.

Resetting company voicemail

First, there are two things you need to know. The DKT3010 phone will work on different Toshiba phone systems AND you can have different voice mail systems. The phone system and voice mail are separate to some extent. You need to know the model of the Toshiba main control unit and it would help to know for sure which voice mail system you have. You SHOULD have an administrator's guide for the system and voice mail or someone at the office in control of making simple changes to the system... however, depending on the company that originally installed the system you may have gotten nothing (hopefully they are still in business and you know who they are!!) Most of these systems can be programmed over the phone quickly by the company that originally installed it. There are probably passwords that you would need to know to change any programming features and if you don't know what they are you would be out of luck. Your best bet is to find the company that installed the system. There may even be a sticker on the main control unit with their contact info. Next I would try to find a local installation company that could help you get the changes made and set you up with a way to make future simple changes yourself. Get ALL the information needed to make any changes like passwords etc.. even if you do not want to do it yourself, you NEED to have this information in case the company goes out of business!
