My computer keeps freezing up in the middle of sites that I'm on. Can you advise me as to how to correct it?

My computer freezes up a lot & when I click out of the site, a box pops up onscreen, to tell me that I've encountered a problem, via Internet Explorer, & that I need to send an error report to Microsoft. I've done so, so many times, & still nothing has been changed. Please tell me what I need to do, to finally be rid of this problem. It's getting old already. Thanks in advance

SOURCE: Warning Box.

It sounds like it is a maleware issue, I would recommend downloading Spyware begone and a anti virus tool, and running both of these,

otherwise it could be an issue with your browser, try a different web browser. eg.. Firefox.

SOURCE: Unable to Open Orkut Site

This is because you are probably using AVG antivirus in the background.
Try shutting it down.
If the problem persists , then post it again.

I will be glad to help you out.

Why does Facebook keep freezing

Your computer might be the culprit. Whenever that happens, reboot your computer and retry. If the problem recurs, hook up to a similar site (linked-in or some other sight that uses heavy scrolling.

If Facebook is the only site suffering from freeze-ups, then you need to compare with another computer's rendition to make sure the problem is shared.

Another reason might be insufficient RAM on your local machine. Sites like Facebook use heavy scrolling (long and heavy pages that need to be scrolled), which typically requires a lot of RAM to render without freeze-ups.

Hope this helps.

Freezing

A computer/notebook/laptop can freeze due to a lot of reasons. Here are few noteworthy ones. Check them and see if they help, if not then post a little detail of when it freezes more etc:

a) Antivirus programs have a great tendency of eating up memory quite quickly. So, get a lightweight antivirus program like Microsoft Security Essentials or Avast etc.

b) If you have a low RAM then it is recommended that you run very few applications at the background. Avoid running any unnecessary applications.

c) If you have a desktop set with lots of transitions and effects it can cause huge RAM and often results in freezing of system.

d) Your O/S could be a problem too. If the above things doesn't help try resetting/re-installing the O/S and hopefully it shall help you a lot.

e) Check your system for any viral activities. You can perform an online scan using many free online scanners like Trend Micro etc.

My computer keeps freezing up in the middle of sites that I'm on. Can you advise me as to how to correct it?

Sounds like you might have some viruses and malware.

Start your PC and press F8 several times until the boot menu comes up. Then select "Safe Mode with Networking". Now get some or ALL of the FREE programs below.

Download, Install and Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=5756
When Installing choose the non-pro version.

Download, Unzip, Install and Run TDSSKiller:
http://majorgeeks.com/Kaspersky_TDSSKiller_d6895.html

Download, Install and Run Super Anti-Spyware:
http://majorgeeks.com/SUPERAntiSpyware_d5116.html

If you have an outdated Anti-virus program then Download, Install and Run Avira Anti-Virus:
http://majorgeeks.com/Avira_AntiVir_Personal_-_FREE_Antivirus_d955.html
Make sure to select ALL of the "threat categories" when you install or configure Avira.

You should be in pretty good shape if you run and install all of these programs..

My Sims 3 keeps freezing! I spent 60 dollars on that game!!!!!

It's possible that you computer specks are not up to par for the game. Not all computers are build the same.
Check it on this web site http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/
You also can try lowering the setting by following these steps
  • Launch The Sims 3.
  • Click on the blue '...' Options menu on the lower left-hand corner.
  • Click on the 'Options' menu item.
  • By default, the Graphics settings tab should be the first tab open.
  • Slide all the Graphics sliders to 'Low' under the 'Graphics details' section.
  • Click on the blue check mark button on the lower right-hand side of the Options window to save your changes.
  • Re-start The Sims 3.

Disk keeps freezing, no error reported

This is a fault with the graphics processor unit (gpu) your console needs stripping down and new heatsink paste appying to the gpu chip, this is basically the same fix for rrod so there are plenty of guides on this site or on youtube if you feel like having a go yourself.
Remember thumbs up if this helps.
