My guees is that the powersupply is dead.
You can still buy a new one.

But some old asus mainboard has bad capacitors.
Does yours look like this:



If they do it does not pay to let them be changed.

The mainboard is 11 years old and i guees the time has ran out for it.

I whish others could hold that long.

Hello try to change the power supply with one you know works.

If you want a manual select your windows system.
Next open the manual folder and hit global for download.
Unzip the file and you need adobe reader to read the content.

Look also for bad capasitors on the mainboard:




If they look like this the mainboard is dead.
It does not pay to let them be changed.

Is your power supply works ? (check the fan)Check if power supply connected correclty with the motherboard (see manual)if yes then change power supply with same type of bigger in Watts and retry.

any settings that i need to change so that the HDD will work properly with asus p4b266...the HDD is working alone in other boards.but with asus p4b266 there is an error in reading disk.
