Question about Braun WK200 Electronic Water Kettle Cordless Electric Kettle

Open Question

Goes off and on intermittenly.

I cleaned the contact on the base with a piece of emery cloth and then used a small wire brush to rescore the suface on the hand unit. This does not help. At times the unit runs from start to finish if you do not mess with it hehe. At other times it does not seem to work at all. I have not scientifically recorded this observation so to speak but it appears that the colder the kitchen is the more it does not work. Moving the power cable does not change this either it appears to be in the switch but I would not put my life on it.

Same problem here. It's not the mechanical switch on the handle. Seems like if you rotate the kettle on the base or maybe tilt it the light comes back on and the unit continues heating. Some days it's so bad you have to hold it the whole time. Others it works all the time.

SOURCE: Braun 8585 shaver, charges fine,

The problem is the base, not the shaver. Most likely, the circuit board inside the base has gotten wet and is damaged. If this is the case, it will need to be replaced. You will find a replacement at See link below

SOURCE: My 7526 won't clean cycle

It is probably plugged up at the base. Take the cartridge out and turn it upside down> next clean the openings with a cotton swab< it make take a while as it can get gummy> That should fix the problem

SOURCE: 370cc Series 3 After full cleaning and charging

I had the same exact problem with the same model. The internal circuit board has gone bad, mine would go on in the middle of the night and I found that if I tapped the unit on the counter I could get it to stop but eventually it would run till the battery went dead.
Luckily Braun gives you a 2 year warranty and mine was still under warranty. I first contacted Braun and they gave me some locations of there authorized service centers. The service center tried replacing the internal circuit board twice and the third time I was sent a brand new unit. I will attach the link to the Braun site for you to contact them or Phone: 1-800-BRAUN-11 (1-800-272-8611).

Hi Susan:
Chances are that there may be dirt or corrosion on the fuses.
I would try a quiet afternoon of pleasant cleaning. Remove the fuses, one at a time. Use a small wire brush to clean the fuse holder, and a piece of 400 grit emery paper to clean the ends of the fuse. Blow out the dust, replace, and on to the next one.
I have a 1980's Mack in the equipment inventory and love it.

How do I diagnose a top burner igniter problem?

If it is not the ignition module, try checking the igniter electrode to see if it is slightly corroded or rusty. Lightly sand with emery cloth, small wire brush or dollar bill. Also check the same on the ground @ which the electrode arcs across & clean if necessary.

Battery exhausted

A solution of baking soda and water will neutralize the battery acid. Use a Q-tip soaked in the solution to carefully clean the contacts. Do not allow the moisture to leak into the camera's interior. Once you have neutralized and removed as much of the acid as possible, carefully polish the electrical contacts. A clean pencil eraser should do the job, but you can also use a small piece of extra fine emery cloth to clean the contacts until they are bright and shiney.

How high should the water level be?

There should be a minimum and maximum line marked on the battery wall.
Using distilled water; fill each cell until the level is above the minimum level line on the battery case and at or below the maximum line. Never overfill the battery or leakage will occur. If you discover that the electrolyte levels have fallen below the minimum level lines, there is a possibility that permanent damage may have been done to the internal lead plates in the battery and a new replacement may be required. After adjusting the levels, make sure the filler plugs are secured and the battery is free of dirt and corrosion. If you need to clean the battery, use a mixture of baking soda and water to neutralize any electrolyte that may be on the outside of the battery. Simply brush this on the battery and terminals using an old paintbrush or tooth brush and rinse it off with clean water. Dry the battery using an old soft rag or paper towel and make sure the terminals are clean and free of corrosion. You can clean the terminals with a small wire brush if the corrosion is significant or just brighten them up using a piece of emery cloth.

I need to remove the parts for washing How I do this?

Things You'll Need:
  • Soft-bristled brush
  • Stiff-bristled brush
  • Dishwasher (optional)
  • Mild detergent
  • Lint-free microfiber cloths
  1. Unplug your Acme 6001 Juicer. Carry it to a countertop near your kitchen sink.

  2. Remove the pusher and cover, and set the pieces in a sink. Unscrew the clutch, remove it and set it in the sink. Remove the cutter blade, strainer basket and juice bowl, and place the pieces in the sink.
  3. Discard or remove and store any pulp that you find in the strainer basket. When you're finished, rinse the remaining fruit and vegetable pulp and juice from the pieces under cool, running water. Dislodge hard-to-remove pulp from the cutter blade and strainer basket with a soft-bristled brush or with a stiff-bristled brush if necessary.
  4. Wash the pieces in a dishwasher or by hand. To wash in a dishwasher, place the stainless steel pieces in the lower rack and the plastic in the top rack and wash on a normal cycle with other kitchenware. To wash by hand, fill the sink with warm water and a few drops of mild detergent and wash with a lint-free microfiber cloth.
  5. Run the pieces through the rinse cycle in your dishwasher or rinse under running tap water by hand. Air or wipe dry the pieces.

  6. Wipe the base with a slightly soapy cloth. Rinse with a damp cloth and wipe dry. Reassemble your juicer by returning the pieces to the base in reverse order.

One side burners will not light electrically. Will click but won't light. Can light manually

use a small piece of wet and dry emery cloth to clean betweent the contacts. it looks like a bent piece of wire above the gas outlet you have to remove the gas defuser plate which just lifts off the top of the burner. hope this is of use.

I push the starter button but the olny thing that happens is the headligt goes dim//the bat is full charged

either he button has gone bad. bad contacts to severely corroded or the starter itself has gone bad. Open the switch housing anf look there first. use a fine emery cloth or small finger nail file (cardboard one) to clean the contacts. squirt a little contact cleaner there too. Add a little dielectric grease to the contacts, reassemble and see what happens. if nothing happens... then it is the started itself

I have a KX TG2356 cordless, when I hang up the hand set, the battery will not recharge, why? I got out an old KX-TG2258 and put the hand set on it and it IS charging, but I can use that with my current...

typical fault is bad or no connection between charging terminals and hand set charging terminals...try to clean them using emery cloth or fine sand paper....sometimes even though the contacts look clean they still have bad connections because of an oxide layer that builds up....that oxide layer can easily be taken off with a light sanding......if that doesn't work, then have your hand set checked for internal open solder lines or regulator circuitry faults that regulates power feed to the battery to monitor charging status...
good luck

Last week found the + wingnut was loose, tightened it but now battling to get a good puddle with lincoln 120 MIG machine

Check for blackening of the contacts, clean up with emery cloth(don't use a wire brush). You can tell if it's a bad contact by touch, it will be hot because of the resistance.

Hoover windtunnel - brushes spin fine when it's upside down but when it makes contact witht the carpet it stops completely. Is this the belts?

your belt is stretch out get a new belt.but before you put the new belt on clean the motor shaft .theres usually burnt rubber left on the shaft.if you don't clean it off the new belt won't last very can use a fine piece of emery cloth to take the rubber off and back down to the polished finish on the shaft.and while your at it and you have the brush roller off clean it good.check the ends to make sure they turn freely.sometimes carpet strands get wrapped around the ends.those ends come off ,some unscrew and some just pull off
