I ran a cycle before bed and the machine seemed to run forever. This morning I found the door won't unlock. The "controls locked" button is lit. I attempted to run another cycle to clear the problem and found the drum doesn't turn and the motor sounds aren't the same as usual. Unplugging the machine does not correct the problem.
I have a repairman coming in the morning. I have no idea what is wrong or how much repairs will potentially cost.
Question: Would it be reasonable to spend $280 for a one year extended warranty that will cover the cost of the repair I have scheduled or is the warranty cost too high in relation to what my repair bill will likely be outright?

This is aself test procedure on the door locking mechanism . You will also hear a click, the drum will make a partial turn, and the door will unlock berore locking again. Once the door has locked a second time the washer will begin tumbling and adding water. The sensing process will continue until the correct amount of water is added to the load.
DL f is a door lock error and is caused due to an
issue with the door lock when it is unable to lock/unlock. Please check the
door lock mechanism/door switch assembly and replace the part that has gone bad
so that the issue is resolved. Please get back to me if you have any other
We experienced the same thing. I was able to restart and locate the noise to the water pump. After disassembling the water pump found the impeller shaft sliding out. For some reason this shaft will not stay in place. Had to order a complete pump assembly as the electric motor is not available.
yes!! the F/11 is triggered under high voltage conditions like high speed spinning. The part is called the MCU motor control unit. if it goes into failure while using your machine and locks the door, just wait 3 minutes and the door will unlock after the MCU resets. Try using you machine with a low speed spin for awhile.
it will not let you unlock the door because the machines full of water?--the machine will not finish its cycle because the vacume switch is still detecting water , The water will not drain because the pump is blocked with something , probably a wire from your underwire bra,all you can do is undo a pipe undernieth and let the water drain away and take the pump to bits ?There may be an inspection cap somewhere on the front at the bottom
This is a Door Lock Error.
The service manual lists the following causes:
Door Lock Mechanism is broken or removed from door.
Door Switch Unit Lock Failure-Unplug washer and check door switch, wiring connections, and the connection to the CCU (Central Control Unit (You have to remove the lid of the washer for this).
To get at the switch, you have to remove the lower front panel. These are torx, I believe 3 screws. By turning yourself on your head, you can visually inspect the lock, and manually lock/unlock to check for bind (pulling/pushing a black plastic handle about two inches long with a teardrop shaped handle on the end.
