I have a Whirlpool LSR8433KQ1 top loader that just stop working this afternoon. We purchased it in 2004 from Lowes. The first load went through fine. The second load was set on medium the basin filled with water. Once the lid was closed it stopped. I turned the machine on and off with the dial still nothing. I thought it was the outlet. Changed the plug to another outlet and turned the dial to rinse. The water came on then stopped again. The original outlet still worked. I removed the clothes and made sure there was nothing caught in the agitator and tried turning it on again to no avail.

Fabi, if Im reading you right the machine fills with water and just sits there. Can you hear the motor running when it should be agitating? If so you might have a broken coupler. If the machine is quiet and just sits there, it could be the pressure switch. The first picture shows the pressure switch with the rubber hose and purple wire going to it (far left). There is no model number posted but this is a top loading Kenmore, should be close. Take the rubber tubing off the switch and blow into the switch with another piece of tubing. Does it start agitating? If so, there's your problem. If you do hear the motor running and it's not agitating it may be the motor coupler. If you need more assist...email me at [email protected] Catriver..post back.

Washing machine keeps draining during rinse

You may be experiencing a condition known as "siphoning". This is caused by the drain hose not being high enough off the floor, or not having a proper air gap at the standpipe in order to drain properly. This creates a suction and the washer will constantly drain as it tries to fill. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3575830-how_to_prevent_washer_siphoning

In the majority of the cases, this problem is attributed to improper installation, rather than an actual problem with the washer. If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Kenmore washer 3.5 super capacity. Machine spins

It sounds like your tub bearing is bad or going bad. It could be the adjustment on your spin cycle. Does your unit allow you to adjust this. Also are you overloading. Can you send me the brand and model of your unit and I help you more.

The pressure switch is likely to blame. Change it.

Are you happy with the Kenmore 800 4.0 cu.ft. top load washer?

For large capacity, a front loader would be your best bet. An HE2 by Kenmore should be sufficient. If a toploader is overloaded, it's more likely to do damage. Also a Whirlpool Duet would work. Whirlpool makes Kenmore, so shop for the best price, (they are the same inside)

WHAT IS THE LOAD CAPCITY SIZE OF WASHER MODEL 110.20702990

On newer, and sometimes a little newer, Whirlpool and Kenmore (Kenmore is made by Whirlpool) considers a few things in determing capacity. Most of the inner baskets are the same size, but they also add in agitator action into the mix. A Kenmore with an auger top agitator would have higher capacity than a Kenmore with just a normal agitator, even though it has the same sized drum. So a super capacity washer would have theoretically less CLEANING CAPACITY than a super capacity plus. The agitator action is actually what determines capacity on these models. So, with that in mind, cubic load should be about the same on both units. Sorry that I had to go into "Bill Nye The Washer Guy" mode, but thats about the only way to describe. Let me know if I can confuse you any more haha. Seriously though, if you need further help or info, write back, and will try to get you some other information. Remember, this theory only works on top load "normal people" washers, not the front loaders.
