Does anyone know why my Asus WL-138GE is making my system hang at boot time?
I have disabled the Windows wireless service and am using the Asus utility. I have also updated to latest drivers, which made no effect
Im using Win XP Pro SP2

Remove the card and install in a different pci slot,it may be a problem with the way windows is giving the pci slot the startup request.
Just also double check that the correct driver is being recognised and not a windows generic driver.
Look in device manager on hardware tab and see if there is a 'x' or an exclamation mark (!) against the wireless card.

Please make sure that the router and the not placed need to any electromaganetic source or any heat source. The modem/router should be placed in well ventilated area and if possible on a wooden surface. The wireless hangs becouse the modem/router gets heated up.
Hanging is just a minor problem of any pc. It just means that the system is hot. Just open up the system unit and make sure that the cpu, system and power pack fans are working. Also clean the system because of dust.
Thanks to Guest above. I was having the issue with USB of my WD drives causing the system to hang upon boot up. Disabling USB Legacy did the trick. It's only my WD externals that were causing me the issue but no mor
