This is a 98 model tv but it has never given me a lick of problems. Last night while I was watching it the color went out. Oddly it has perfect color on the menu screens and the input display is still bright green. I have the issue on the the tuner and the composite inputs. However the componet input has perfect color. So, I know it is just a board or connection and not the crt's. I have already tried unplugging it over night and that did not help. Any assistance with this would be greatly appriciated.

Some inputs on tvs won't process the color signal. Try one of the other inputs. Mine does the same. If u have already used the working ones on something else, U will need a switch to select one or the other available at Radio Shack if u can find one.
dear your tv have three color systems and when you play vcd which is recorded in pal and you watched color when you play dvd which is recorded in ntsc system which is not available in your tv so you watch as black and white
To add an exterior speaker to Sony KV-13M10, you have to have an AMPLIFIER.
At the back of your TV you will be able to see 3 RCA output namely = VHF/UHF, Audio and Video.
Use an RCA cable and connect to the Audio output.
At the back of your amplifier, connect the other end of the RCA cable to an RCA input labeled Audio - L (left, usually in white color).
Your speaker should be connected to your amplifier labeled output or audio out. The connection type depends on the make and model of your amplifier. The speaker wires usually come in red and black color. red goes to red, black goes to white.
A simple diagram will look like this:
TV audio out -------------> amplifier audio in (left, white color)
amplifier audio out (left, white color) -----------> speaker (black wire)
amplifier audio out (right, red color) ------------> speaker (red wire)
I bought Sony Color Bravia TV 60 inch, moved with it Kenya, Africa, when i try to tune the color is not coming. I can only get black and white. Please anybody with idea on how to change it for Africa (Kenya). Model:KDL-52SS100. My e-mail. [email protected]
For the last week my TV has been going to a black screen for 10 seconds or so then the picture returns. It has been continual. Last night it stopped going to black screen, but now the standby light flashes 5 consecutive times and the color went haywire. A lot of red and everything that is suppose to be black is green.
I did a soft and hard reset with no success. What's wrong and is it worth fixing? Bought new in November 2002.
Since you're using a composite cable (yellow RCA) that carries both luma (brightness) and chroma (color) information, it's not the cable that is the problem.
That means it's either the DVD player itself, or the TV. If you have another video device (VCR, etc) that you can connect to the TV, try that. If the other device also goes from color to black and white, then it's your TV. Otherwise the problem is your DVD player.
Since your TV only has mono audio (white RCA, but no red) I would recommend getting a new TV if the TV is to blame.
