Kodak Z812 shuts off automatically

I just bought a Kodak Z812...put new batteries in it that came with camera and took about 15 pics before the camera would just shut off. I could turn it back on and take 1 or 2 pics then it would shut off again! Put another new set of batteries in camera and same thing 1 or 2 pics then camera just shuts off and battery light shows low battery.

I am having the same problem. Have used it sporadically for a couple of months but now won't even turn on.

I have the same problem, also. I use the klic8000 rechargeable battery. The problem, it worked great throughout the first charge, but now it won't work at all. The battery is charged according to my meter. I tried other batteries, and nothing will happen. Did I ruin the camera? How can this be corrected?

I'm having the same problem with my camera shutting off after each picture; with brand new non-rechargable Energizer batteries. Often times, it won't even turn on to be able to take any pictures. And on top of that, some of the pictures that the camera takes aren't viewable from the camera itself. It gives me an error message saying "Unrecognizable file format." Kind of frusterating.

I am having the same problem. I recharged my recharables...still smad problem. My husband thought the problem might be that my recharagables were getting old. I went to the store, bought a new digital battery....still same problem! Help, I love my camera and want it working again!!!

This problem exists for several Kodak cameras and it's a strange problem. However, we did find this fix:http://kodakc182easyshare.blogspot.com/

It is a high-powered camera, also knows as a GREAT camera. Use CRV-3 lithium duracell batteries. I have the same camera and the same "problem", but when I use that battery it lasts forever.

The Z812 IS is powered by either one CRV3 or two AA Lithium disposable batteries (Kodak doesn’t support the use of Alkaline AA’s or NiMH re-chargeable AA’s). Kodak doesn’t include a re-chargeable battery and battery charger with the Z812 IS - they must be purchased separately. Z812 IS owners can opt to go with the Kodak KLIK 8000 re-chargeable Li-ion battery and purchase the Kodak K7500 or K7600 battery charger or a Kodak printer dock or the Kodak EasyShare HDTV camera dock (both of which also function as battery chargers

It just stop working after taking 10 pic.

In order to clearly determine the fault the precise fault is needed.

However I hope this will help:
If your cam use AA batteries:
Here are the steps for the no power problem:
1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. Please use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher).
2. Clean the battery contacts.
a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth.
b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera
3. Turn on your camera without the memory card.

Kodak z812 would not turn off, took battery out now it won't turn back on

you may have a very common firmware problem and have to send it in to Kodak like I did for $50. Otherwise the only other thing you can do is use new batteries and try using without a sim card.

I push on the shutter button and nothing happens!

Have you tried to put new batteries in it sometimes when they start to die then not all of the functions will work and also cheap batteries can be brand new but not strong enough to run the functions

Put brand new batteries in camera took three pic then they die

Hi, you will only solve this by buying the official KODAK battery (KLIC-8000) - NZD52.00 retail here in New Zealand. Even the generic CR3V rechargeable batteries dont work, so dont waste your $$ on them.
Even now, with the 'official' battery, when taking flash photos or zooming a lot, I find that it is only taking around 150 - 200 shots, when Kodak boast over 400.
But I must say the capabilities of the camera (esp the quality video) outstrip any annoyance battery wise.
Hope this helps, regards Wayne
