First my door key stopped working had to unlock passenger side and then the parking lights would not go off and then the dash lights went out when we first got the aztek the gas gauge didn't work don't know if that has anything to do with it and the light on the radio doesn't work either
SOURCE: Driver side door lock does not work
If the side door does not work the central unit may be defective or the motor in the doors are not working you need to get it serviced

SOURCE: Pontiac Aztek GT
Ours did the exact same thing. It eventually did the 'disco effect' where the head lights were flashing constantly and horn honking. It would only stop if we took the fuse for the Body Control Module out for 30 seconds.
Only that was a temporary fix. It finally got so bad that the car locked itself down and we had to take it in. The BCM had to be replaced (cost us $350) and it seems to do a lot better, but the radio is still locked but it might just have to be reset. Hope it helps!
SOURCE: Front passenger door lock wont work, seat belt light on
Sounds like the plastic clip that connects the lock has broken however regardless of fault the inner door panel has to be removed to diagnose and repair. It could also be inner door lock assembly.
SOURCE: dash board gauges not working on 01 aztek
open the driver side door there should be a panel right inside the door crease. if not they are up under the dash It's been so long since we sold our aztek I don't remember exactly but one of those two locations.
SOURCE: my passenger door has no power,my security light is on constantly
Have lost power to the passenger side door. Without power system doesnt recognize door closed because of no power to door ajar switch which keeps dome light on. Security light stays on because without power to rest of systems supplied by fuse it cannot tell if doors and windows closed to engage security features. Most common is for power wire to break somewhere near where it leaves to main body and enters the door.
