Question about Zanussi ZX99 / 5 Bottom Freezer Refrigerator
I have a 4 year old Zanussi fridge freezer with the cooling elements underneath (& fan driven). I have to regularly clean these off as they get covered in dust & stuff. (If I don't, then the red warning lights are on & the over-temp bleeper sounds.) How can I clean off these elements ? Currently I can only clean off the first few "waves" & the rest are now becoming very blocked.
They make a "coil brush" that works just for getting into those hard to reach places. There are also vac attachments that have long skinny brush attachments for doing coils also. Although messy and time consuming, pulling the fridge out and blowing it with an air compressor type air chuck using about 80lbs of air pressure works to dislodge the hard to get to stuff. On some models that are really stuck because of cooking grease in the air coating the coils, etc. I have had to pull the fridge outside and actually pressure wash the coils with detergent to get them clean of greasy build up that causes the dust to stick like concrete.
