you need to buy a enable sd card for print and scan... and the problem with the fax function just conect it., the line and the phone.

You can fax or print with the aficio 1018d provided that you have the fax and printer options. these connection points are located at the back of the machine.

It is a scanner problem....could be lamp, lens defect, or as simple as the lamp, and lirrors undeer the glass being very dirty, because the code refers to the 'white level"....a calibration that the machine does when switched on. It could be as simple as, the white plate which is underneath the left scale (beside the main contact glass) is dirty (or missing). Try cleaning this (2 screws), and while you're at it, try removing the main contact glass (3 more screws)and cleaning it as well as the scanner bulb, and mirrors (slide scanner to the right with the machine unplugged).

The fax log or Journal is printed automatically after every 50 communications (tansmissions and receptions). If you want to print a copy of the journal;
Select Fax mode and press <Information> icon on the upper right corner of the touch panel.
Press <Print Journal>

An error report is printed whenever the transmission or reception has failed.
If Transmission result report is on, a report is printed every time so you have a record of whether it was successful or not.

Once the fax was received and printed you can't do nothing.
It is not stored in the machine.
Please call the sender to send you the fax again.
