Question about SanDisk Sansa e260 MP3 Player

Sansa Sandisk 4g

My Sansa sandisk 4g locked up on me while using it today. I couldn't get it to shut off...holding the off button for 10 sec, 30 sec or a minute did nothing. I took the battery out to hopefully reset the device, that did nto work. But when I plug it in, it works, unplug it, it doesnt work. The battery was not drained when it locked up. any suggestions would be most helpful. Also I am on vacation at the moment and cannot reload the software. thank you

I usually just let the battery die and i recharge. Then it works fine

No display on screen.

Hold the power switch up . . it will eventually shut down. 10 secs. works for minor hiccups, but some problems take up to 30-40 secs. to clear.

Won't shut off screen displays 012510-213901 this is a sandisk sansa clip+ 4gb purchased yesterday

Push up/press power button and hold for 10 to 20 seconds, It will turn off.
What is your firmware? you should update the new firmware at sandisk forum,

My sandisk mp3

You may have the mp3 player locked. Check the top to see if orange is showing, if you the player in on hold and that is the cause of it not starting up.

Frozen Mp3 player

push in the middle select button and hold it in. as you are holding it in push the menu/power button and hold it in. you should have to hold them both for about 10 sec. or so then the screen black out and you can release it. that should work. it happened to me once and thats how i unfroze it

Sounds like some of your music may be corrupt.

You can use this to get it back to normal;

Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted.

You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.

- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds)
- Slide the hold switch into "hold" position.
- Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.

Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.

Sandisk e130

Get out the battery and let the device "calm down" without any source of power for 5-10 minutes. After that push the menu/start button, hold down for 30 or more seconds and holding down, insert the battery. It has to reset the power circuitry and should help.
