I was so fed up with the machine, so I unplug the machine over night (unintentionally). This morning the machine is working as good as before. When I check the solution by Tim, he said just that: "Unplug" the machine. Anyhow, I want to thank Tim for his wonderful solution.

Tk, Unplug the printer from the electrical source for 2 minutes or so.(i.e. wall plug)Plug the printer back into the wall and turn it on...That should clear the machine to get it to a workable state. http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=SupportDetailAct&fcategoryid=238&modelid=10444 this site should be able to help you. Good Luck, Tim

Trying to receive a fax. Display says

You have to cancel the fax. If its saying that then the paper sent to you was a legal sixe 8.5x14 and needs that type paper to receive the fax. Some faxes have legal trays and A4 but most don't.

Printer is not working

It is possible that the FAX in the memory is causing the problem. Try unplugging the printer from the wall and leave it off for a minute or two to see if it will clear the memory

Getting fax in memory out of the Canon 780

Canon does not offer any sort of recovery which is really sad, while the fax is still in the ram, its in full binary which is unreadable to the human eye so even if you could dump the ram/cache it would be rendered useless.

Sorry but this is hard fact.

Deleting scanned information from all-in-one printers' hard drive

The Canon doesn't have a hard drive, it only stores images until they are printed and only in flash memory. There will be no personal information left on it if you discard, unless you have phone numbers stored in fax memory.

Cannot recieve or send faxes

Check out the Easy Setup Instructions available here. If you can neither send nor receive faxes, you may not have the phone line connected to the correct port, see page 34 of the guide. Also check what receive mode the machine is set for. Pages 42 and 43 explain the different options and how to change the receive mode.

Receiving message stating "wrong cartridge"

Overnight I started getting the "wrong cartridge" message on my Canon MP780. I use only OEM cartridges. As the Canon website suggested, I replaced the printhead with a new one (Empire Office Machines for $48.25 plus shipping) and it works great. Prints better than ever. Easy fix for my machine. I did read that using refills can cause more problems than just the printhead.
