Question about AOpen CD 952E Internal 52x CD-ROM Drive

My cd rom is not shown/detected by my computer. The computer says no cd rom connected,but all the connections are intact,

Have you set the jumpers at the back of the cdrom to slave if you already have another peice of hardware on the same idr cable, if not and only the cdrom is in the ide cable it should be set to master. Also check the bios to see if it is recognised, press F2 or DEL on start up and see if it's there under standard bios settings.

Have you used Device Manager and done a search for new hardware? If that has not helped, then you should try to open the laptop to check whether the wires are fully connected, if these are internal.

It is possible that the wires became disconnected, and need to be reconnected to work again.

I've lost the connection to the E: (CD-Rom) drive to my computer. What needs to be to done to get it back?

go to start>>right click on my computer>>manage>>device manager>>dvd/cd rom drives>>disable and then enable ur driver and u'll get it back

CD ROM DOES NOT APPEARS ON MY DESKTOP. WHEN I OPENS MY COMPUTER THERE`S DOES NOT APPEARS THE CD-ROM`S ICON.

1.check your connections of CD Rom inside the Cpu box, if any loose contacts there, then your cd rom wont appears on the computer,
2. change the data cable
3. connect different power socket to the cd rom
4. goto Bios setup, press Del key or F2 key to enter the Bios setup
5. check your cd to detect
6. save it and restart your computer

DVD +R

Right Click My Computer

Click properties

Find and click the hardware Tab

Click The Device Manager Button

This will bring up the device manager in a new window , from here locate your DVD Drive under : DVD/CD ROM Drives

Click the plus sign next to it and the installed CD / DVD Devices will be shown

To uninstall the CD / DVD Rom Right click on it and choose uninstall

To Reinstall Reboot , and Windows Will Automatically Detect The CD-Rom Drive and install it for you

Compaq/ DQ178A-ABA is not spinning or anything

Try going into the bios and see if the CD ROM is shown up there and if not try running an auto detect in bios.Another tip is to unplug the PC then disconnect the CD ROM fully then reboot it fully , then unplug it and reconnect the CD ROM, then try again plugging it back in and reboot again.
