I did some research and it looks like SONY hasn’t supported that device since their last firmware update in 2005 written for Windows XP, so you may have problems getting it to correctly interface with a newer computer - SONY traditionally has a habit of making their equipment proprietary so there may be a limitation built into the players system that limits you to loading songs through SONYs software
