Taken about 30/35, 1Hr tapes and hundreds of Photographs. I am well satisfied with the videos & the photos, they all look great on the T.V. and computer - so what's my problem This last year plastic parts seem to be deteriorating. 1st the nibs on the card door broke off making the door remain open all the time. This I repaired by welding on some new nibs using plastic solvent cement. 2nd the Viewfinder went blank. I sent this to a repairer and it cost me £100 - £5 Parts+£85 labour+vat - never again.3rd the Viewfinder has gone blank again - why -because the micro switch which I presume is inside the LCD at the back is not working and the LCD stays on even when closed - you can see it through the slot in the bottom when you turn the camcorder upside down. My guess is that that LCD not going off = Viewfinder not coming on. how do I get to this micro switch. I have tried all of the visible screws, but nothing seems to move - I do not want to force anything and do damage. I am mechanically and electronically competant having repaired Watches, T/V's, VCR's and other electronic equipment. If anyone can help, or point me to any repair manuals, I would be most obliged. I do not like having to video and photograph with only the LCD Regards to all Tom

it is same with my camera same type also.the problem is from flexible cable from mainboard to lcd .same of the core is break..until now i can'ot get that cable. you just buy the cable and on your camera and ok. if you have information abaut that cable please submit to me

If you want to do the job properly for fully remote video editing, etc then you need a digital video capture card fitting into your PC and a firewire lead that suits your particular camera.
If it helps then I have the very thing for sale if your'e quick!!!

I solved the problem on my own. On the panasonic.com site I searched and found my mini dv camcorder and then I found the software I would need to make it work on the computer. I found everything I needed and I will not need to join the premium plan you offer, sometimes if we just take time you can find it yourself without paying so much for something are there any sites that just help people instead of wanting your money....

Yes very easy with a razor sharp knife you will need to cut it in middle.
When you did that you will have this [ ] [ ] if you put in the right part you will record video to sd card and the left side will put pictures on sd card , when ur done just put them together with some tape again and same thing next time
