The Picture is filled with rainbow colors

The picture on my rear projection television is messed up, it bows at the top and bottum and multiple colors, red, green and blue are all around the objects in the picture. Is there any thing i can do to fix this problem myself?

I have rainbow colors at top and bottom as well, and when i push the Digital Array button, to re-align, you can the little +'s at top and bottom are off. Yellow + is below blue +, but the +'s across the middle are lined up and white like I think they should be. Nevertheless, the Digital Array button does not do anything.

Hello Big Sav,

It sounds like you have a Convergence Correction IC problem. This problem happens quite often and is fixed by replacing the ICs and the biasing resistors. There are many articles on the Internet about how to do this yourself. Here is one:
http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?p=564268#post564268

I should mention that, If you do not have a background in electronics you could do damage to your TV by performing this procedure. I you feel that you can not perform this procedure properly have a qualified technician perform it or have the board serviced at a TV repair shop that specializes in board repair.

I hope this helps,
Thank you,

Can you post a picture of what the video is doing? It shounds like a pincushion problem, but it may be convergence amp as well. A picture could clarify it for me so I would know which direction to assist you in.
