Replacement toner cartridge chip not registering--1000.1 supply error
I refilled my toner with a refill kit that came with a new chip. The chip did not look exactly the same. When inserting the following comes up: 1000.1 Supply Error. I cannot get the printer to recognize it. Is there a way to override the original chip. I tried a magnet but no effect. I have a filled cartridge but no way to print. HELP
Use the override supplies out feature on the printer. If the error still stops the printer from working put in the old hp chip and again use the override out setting. GO TO >system setup>print quality>replace supplies>override out,

This won't help you now, however, I used to use refilled cartridges but I always kept a brand new HP cartridge as a spare to deal with that unexpected problem that always came up when I had to print something important.
As far as fixing you immediate problem goes I suspect your quickest fix is going to be going to the local store and buying one.
Actualy there is something better than going and getting a newone, HP changed there chip configurations a little while ago and the old chips no longer work, i would sugest going to your local cartridge world and having them put on a new chip, i dont know how much this will cost you be negtiate with the manager there and see what they can do. the current supplier of the good HP 2600/2605/1600 chips is static control, the chips from uninet sometimes dont work.
that is the best quick fix i know of.

Most Xerox machine are under a supplies agreement and the machine recognizes that a non coded toner refill has been used. If I remember from previous questions here, it needs to be reset by Xerox.
Try cleaning the contacts and reseating the cartridge.
Consequently, refilling your Aficio cartridges with aftermarket toner can save your business ... may have to replace the smart chip so the printer page count will reset and allow you to print. ... Many toner refill kits ship with the needed smart chip
Most Copier Cartridge have chips on them that tell the copier I am new, Replacing the toner/refill, does not change the chip info as long as the chip says I am empty its empty to the copier, replace the cartridge with a new OEM cartridge.
HP unfortunately uses a proprietary chip on their cartridges that renders normal refilling useless. You have a couple different options:
1) You can purchase an aftermarket toner cartridge. 2) You can get your hands dirty and ATTEMPT to do it yourself.
If you want to get your hands dirty, purchase a refilling kit, easily obtainable on eBay. See below link to an eBay search. The kit is made for the average person and includes the special reprogrammed chips for the refilled cartridges.
By far the easiest option is to just purchase a new aftermarket cartridge. However, with enough know-how, you can refill it yourself.

I have the same problems many of you have with the Toner and drum error on my C5500N. I have not had much luck with Okidata support. I have had success replacing the chips in the toner cartridges. The replacement chips can be obtained from www.printerdoctor.com. They sell toner refill kits for the printer as well as chips for the toner cartridge and replacement fuses and rebuild kits for the drums.
how do i (we,all of us being ripped off by microboards) fix this problem
