I doubt that the fuse will fix it, though. Static sounds and then shutting down is a sign that something has gone wrong in the amp. It needs servicing by a competent tech.

You will need to replace it. The storm fried your board for sure, there is no fix for that, and a broken board is useless. you can't really put it back together because the entire surface of an electornics board is conducting electricity through it from component to component. If it could be fixed, it will surely cost you more to fix than buy a new one. Sorry to be the bad news bearer but it is shot, you are left with a giant paperweight.

on the power board you will see a black flat ac converter with this on it + ~ ~ - on it check this with a meter its more than likely to have gone as its the first thing to go in a storm. the + and - can be the other way round ~ ~ is the mains volts in and + - is the volts out if the ~ ~ has no resistance it has blown and it will keep blowing the fuse check the + - and you should have a resistance from the rest of the power board.

Take the unit aparts,the power fuse at near the a/c power supply cord.Check for the power fuse.If the power fuse it is dead,replaced it,u have a 70%-80% the unit will work again.If the unit power fuse it is good.Than the unit it is fried,it could be anythings are dead on the unit PCB board,now u must have great electronic skills and troubleshooting skills to find out where it is and replaced it electronic parts on the unit PCB board.Require alot of skills at this points.Not worth the effort.It time to buy a new one.

is output amplifier is burned, check any burned fuse on the back. is high cmos power amplifier, need to be repaired. send to your top audio repair center.

New, original parts - probably not. IBM usually will only sell to their authorized service centers and technicians. You may be able to find used parts on eBay. Make sure you are getting the EXACT same replacement part - the wrong power supply can result in a fried mother board.

Possible but doesn't sound like it. Sounds more like a problem with the wire not supplying enough power to the pad to provide a stable connection. If you can get hold of one off of a friend/relative/hobo then try using the usb connector with the lead, if it works then its the connector thats your problem and would probably be easier/cheaper to buy another pad. If it works just try and buy another connector or hope that your friend/relative/hobo is generous.

Typically the black is common and the red positive. The only difference will be the direction in which the speaker cone moves. Either it will move outward or inward. In the correct connection polarity, the cone should move outward. Be careful that both speakers are connected the same way. This is actually just as important. If they are hooked up differently, they will be out of phase and you will notice a significant DROP in low end response.

if you plugged in the wrong power adapter you could have very well fried it. Each device such as a LAPTOP or a Printer used different volts, or amps, etc they are not interchangeable even it it fits!
