Pioneer VSX 42 Elite receiver will not stay on

I had my system on and it was working fine. I turned it off and went to work and now when i turn it on i can hear the amp kick on and then it turns right back off. I even unhooked everything and tried to turn it on with nothing hooked up and it still turns right back off. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Your unit is going into protect mode. More than likely it is an issue with a channel. Check the back and make sure your speaker wires are not touching anything they shouldn't be. Also check your speakers as well for any wire shorts. If all checks good, you probably have a blown channel.

SOURCE: pioneer vsx-d511 amp error

I've had the same problem for over a month and have yet to find the time to get to it. However, I there may be a fuse on the circuit board that needs to be replace. That's just my guess.

Hope it's the solution.

SOURCE: receiver problem

Try this, it may work for you.

1.)Plug the unit into your mains voltage.
2.)Depress the enter and advanced surround buttons (on the front panel of receiver) at the same time for
at least 2 seconds, you should hear the relay tick and front panel should light up.

SOURCE: Pioneer VSX-D412 AMP-ERR message.

Hello,
The AMP-ERR message in many Pioneer Receivers is caused by some DC in the output. The microprocessor then issues the warning and shuts the unit off. It is definitely not a relay switch. It could be the amplifier power pack, i.e. PAC011A or similar that is faulty or something else. Not easy to repair for the non- experienced DIY.

Good luck

SOURCE: Pioneer VSX-D411 receiver "Amp Error" message

Hello,
Unfortunatelly your receiver has failed. The front panel is telling you one of the power modules is probably bad. Not an DIY type of repair. These parts are near $40.00, plus cost of replacing.
Look at options to replace your trusted receiver with a new one.
Good luck

SOURCE: My pioneer vsx-519V-k amp won't turn on. Just

Have you checked within the set, the fuse and if the standby circuit is working. thre could be a failure of this sub votage which is required for the switch on of the main power. If you do not have any standby indication you must check this section, however if you arre getting the standby you would have a failed output or a shorting that is triggering the error amp to swtich off. If you are familiar with the circuits you can check but I would suggest that since you will need more experience to look into the main board for tracing the fault. In such case check for the service centre nearest to the place you are in using a google search for Pioneer - Audio systems- sevice. Helpful I hope. Good day.

I have a Pioneer Elite VSX 503 it went into 'Protect Mode'.

Question edited for clarity and typos.

The first link has reset information. It would also remove the case and vacuum out any dust. Also see if there is a cooling fan in there anywhere.

How to program my sanyogxdb remote to w ok rk my pioneer elite vsx 33 rece v er

To program your Sanyo GXDB remote to work with your Pioneer Elite VSX 33 receiver, you can try the following steps:
  1. Turn on the Pioneer Elite VSX 33 receiver manually using the power button located on the receiver itself.
  2. Hold down the "Code Search" button on your Sanyo GXDB remote until the LED light on the remote stays lit or blinks.
  3. Press the "TV" or "DVD" button on the remote, depending on which device mode you want to program the receiver to.
  4. Enter the corresponding code for Pioneer receivers. You can find a list of Pioneer remote control codes in the instruction manual that came with your Sanyo GXDB remote or by searching online. Enter the code using the number buttons on the remote.
  5. Point the remote at the Pioneer receiver and press the "Power" button. If the receiver turns off, it means the remote has been successfully programmed. If not, repeat the process using a different code from the list until you find the one that works.
  6. Once the remote successfully turns off the receiver, press the "Code Search" button again to save the code. The LED light on the remote should turn off or stop blinking.
  7. Test the remote by pressing other buttons, such as volume up/down or channel up/down, to ensure it is functioning properly with your Pioneer Elite VSX 33 receiver.
If you're still having trouble programming the remote, consult the instruction manual that came with the Sanyo GXDB remote or contact Sanyo customer support for further assistance.

Pioneer VSX - 26 TX single-processor receiver elite no sound work fine one day turn on have no sound checked all the connections everything's good here clicking in the receiver can you help me

You may have overloaded your amp. If you have a separate amp in line then this would not be the case but if you are using your receive as the amp then it could be. Look for a fuse on the unit. Usually a small black square marked with 15a.
