Re attaching the floor stand

The wall mount attaches to the top 1/3 portion of the TVs rear panel. The bottom of the back of the TV should not interfere with your wall mount if it's the correct size. Full instructions are listed starting at page 39 of the manual.

If you search on Ebay for your TV's exact model number, sometimes you can find a replacement stand for it there from someone who has their TV mounted to the wall and is no longer using it. These are normally fairly heavy and bulky items, so Ebay purchase prices and shipping costs can vary widely.

I did not see any for your exact model of TV available there when I looked, but the online selection changes daily, so you can always keep checking back. Just search on Ebay for 'HITACHI TV STAND' or 'HITACHI TV BASE' and you will see a wide variety of them available for different Hitachi TV models as well as what the average price for them is. Otherwise you can just buy a generic wall mount floor stand for around $100 which bolts to the TV like a wall mount, but actually sits on the floor instead of being bolted to the wall.

Hi, i have instruction on removing your base stand.

Removing the Pedestal Stand
1) Carefully lay the front of the unit face down on a flat,
cushioned surface such as a quilt or blanket. Leave the stand
protruding over the edge of the surface.
Note: Extreme care should always be used when removing
the pedestal stand to avoid damage to the LCD panel.
2) Remove the jack pack cover on the back of the TV to expose
the pedestal stand screws. The jack pack cover can be removed
without tools.
3) Remove the four screws shown in the diagram below. This will
allow removal of the pedestal stand.
4) Once you have removed all four screws holding the pedestal
stand in place, remove the pedestal stand from the TV by
sliding the pedestal stand away from the TV.

To Display your LCD TV using a Wall Bracket:

If you decide to wall mount your LCD TV, always use a ULlisted wall bracket appropriate for the size and weight of the LCD TV: 32HL37/32HL37U/32HL17/32HL17U: 38.6 lbs (17.5 kg)

1) CAUTION: Two people are required for installation.

2) Unplug and remove any cables and/or other component connectors from the rear of the TV.

3) Follow the instructions provided with your wall bracket. Before proceeding, make sure the appropriate bracket(s) are attached to the wall and the back of the TV as described in the instructions provided with the wall bracket.

4) After attaching the appropriate bracket(s) to the wall and the back of the TV, remove the pedestal stand from the TV as described below.

First I am not to sure about the brand you got there, But if it is not wall supportable you do not need to reove anything but by a wall mount that will hold the bottom in place and yes there are wall mounts for this tpye of arrangment see not all flat panels go on walls thus hence you cannot remove the stand easy. Try finding a wall mount the has a L shape to it, it will hold the bottom of the tv and it comes with a little strap to hold it back into securement. Please do not try to remove the stand I would suggest a diffrent wall mount- Rulds2008 TV expert for 20 years

Hello you remove the last four screws on the back of the tv located down at the bottom theres two on each side the stand will slide out...

If you lay the TV down on something soft but firm (towel on the floor or counter) put the screen face down on the back you should see 4 screw holes with the an (S) next to them. They are located at the center near the bottom. If you remove these screws the stand should then slide out of the bottom of the TV. Good Luck

The ideal height would be between 38" and 42". with your stand being 42" high I would say 45" would be fine. Anything over 50" off the floor will put strain on your neck and give you constant headaches after watching for extended periods of time.
