Wont read discs

Clean the console's laser lens with a laser lens cleaning kit.

First you should try getting a blu ray disc cleaner. This will clean the lens and let you know if it is dirt is on the lens causing the disc not to read. If this does not work they you will need the blu ray lens replaced.

I will advice you clean the lens of your ps3 player, cleaning the lens of the ps3 player will make the ps3 player read the disc, if the problem is not solve after cleaning the lens, it means, you will need to replace the lens on your ps3, the lens might be weak that it can no longer read any disc or play any game. the two options above should fix the problem of your ps3.

Follow these steps when you are facing "disc wont read" problem


Step 1:Remove the disc from the system.


Step 2:Use a cloth to clean in small circles around the disc (not in a big circle going around the disc). Use DVD or CD disc cleaner if available. If you use cleaner, use a different dry cloth to clean the disc no more than three minutes after application.


Step 3:Verify that there are no disc-destroying marks on the disc. Deep scratches and chips in the middle of the disc can render a disc inoperable.As your Playstation 3 is used more and more, the lens that reads Blue-ray discs can become dirty. This will lead to discs skipping or not being read by the console. If you find this is happening on your Blue-ray discs, either movies or games, you may need to have your console cleaned. Be careful when attempting any sort of cleaning of your console, as improper handling will further damage the Playstation 3. Contact a member of Playstation Support for information on console maintenance.

Your PS2 lens is probably weak or its dirty.You should try to clean your PS2 lens first.A dirt on lens wont let your PS2 lens to read your Game disc. Watch this video this will help you to know how to clean your PS2 Disc Reading Lens.



Try to place your PS2 at clean place and clean your PS2 regularly.

You need to replace the lens, but try to clean it first.

Clean the lens. Its possibly dirt on the len which is stopping the lasor from reading discs.
