I had the same problem on a sony XBR 60 inch lcd projection tv. It was under the sony warranty and they sent out a repairman to relace the optical display. It's funny because the place were I purchased the tv had another set on the display floor with the same problem

The "optical block" is bad. There are currently 3 settled class actions against sony for other models with the same problem, If memory serves me correct, your model is in an ongoing class action. If you google Sony LCD class action suit. you will find lots of info. www,sonystyle.com and support has a few articles as well. It is a 900.00 part, so, not really cost effective to repair. Post a comment for me tomorrow and I will paste what links I have on this issue to this post. There in my other PC at my office. Hope this helps
Hi, I'm afraid, it is problem of optical block unit (light engine) that produce picture by 3 lcds inbuilt, the blue lcd and its related uv filters become defective and causing this kind of blue hue on screen. Complete optical unit block (light engine) will be replaced by qualified tech to get tv fixed, light engine is costly part so ask an estimate before sending tv in. Thanks.
If you are comfortable with working inside the set where there are potentially dangerous high voltages present, you can probably fix this easily. Open up the back and remove it. Plug the set back in and turn it on. In the lower right hand side will be the flyback transformer (large red wire coming out of the top and going to the side of the picture tube). DO NOT TOUCH IT!!! On the back of the flyback should be 2 "knobs". One will be marked screen and the other focus. Carefully adjust the focus until the picture is clear. When you do this, go beyond the clear point and work the control back and forth a few times before settling in to the focused spot.
Your problem is with the blue color, maybe some dirt is sitting on the face of the blue crt and is being projected bigger to the screen, you should try cleaning the face of all 3 tubes,if you familiar with tv service this should help,be careful when removing the back and make sure the set is unplug when you do the cleaning.Let us know how it goes.
