Would olympus software work with a pentax camera

What software?
In the camera, or what came with the camera on CD?
If you want to connect the camera to the computer make sure you install the correct version, before you connect the camera.
The software in your camera can't be changed, unless Olympus offers new firmware, to the registered users. Not sure they already offered any update for the X-42

Vivitar makes lenses with a variety of mounts. Lenses with the Pentax K-mount can be used on the K1000, lenses with other mounts can not.

Olympus lenses will not mount onto a Pentax camera.

You can sell the lenses, give them to someone with the appropriate camera(s), or use them as paperweights.

To my knowledge there are no digital SLRs that take the old Pentax screw mount directly. However, there is an adapter available for the Pentax K series (not very surprising). In addition, there are adapters available for the Sony NEX series and the Micro Four-Thirds cameras from Olympus and Panasonic.

1. Un-install and re-install the software, check again.
2. As an alternative, install the free Olympus Viewer software from here.

From Pentax. There is nothing in the software that you need to operate your camera. The software only provides imaging programs that you can use to change your images. Download a program from Google like Picasso, it's free and as a rule better software.

I have lost my cd for my optio s5i pentax camera and have a new laptop how can I get another cd or download software so I can transfer photos onto my laptop

I've seen LCDs forA30 are sold via eBay.
In youtube there's a video of replacing the LCD in other Optio model.

I have the problem and I'm going to try it by myself. I'll let you know if it worked.
