That could be caused by a number of things. A compression test would help narrow it down. You could also pull the muffler and visually inspect the piston and cylinder for any scoring. If you do a compression test look for 90psi or more. If around 60 or less then there is the problem for sure. Between that it still could be a scored or worn cylinder and piston or bad rings. Igniton and fuel issues could also be the problem so you need to do some trouble shooting to narrow it down.

How do i clear jammed cutter blades

Does the shredder have a reverse button ?

If it has, just switch between reverse and forward a couple of times.

If that does not work it may have to be dismantled and the cutters turned by hand as you pull the paper out. Disconnect the power first though.

My motor is working but the top cutter will not move, I've taken it apart but it still wont move the cutter at all. The only time the motor moves the top cutter is when I unscrew it. What should I do?

The front tension is too tight loosen it a bit this may help, if not you need to send it in to have it check if the motor is still working with full power. check Mannys-Sharpening.com They can help.

when was the last time you took a look at the cutter blades,,or serviced the cutter deck? if the cutting blades are blunt or rounded off it will stall the engine stress the belts and the clutch,,,also if the mower has been standing un ran all winter it may have "rust" on the engine valves,,running the engine unloaded for a time may knock this off but under load the compreshion is pushed up into the inlet and pops back through the carb,,,try putting into the fule a little "two stroke oil" only 5cc a gall no more! this will lube the velves and carb,,,but sharpen them cutter blades up first,,,or its like trying to eat a half cooked stake with a blunt knife and no teeth? that reminds me? were have my teeth gone?

Took blades off to clean and oil unit and can't get the unit back together.

First when you remove the clipper blade did you notice a plastic part 1" long color gray, if you have lose this part your clipper blade not work. This is call a blade guide. Clipper blade installation, Place Plastic guide on spring,2 place cutter blade on guide,(this is the smaller blade) now hold cutter blade with two fingers now place comb blade on top of cutter blade (this is the bigger blade) replace screws while holding blades in place.

Datamax I-4208 Cutter Fault

if the cutter cycles on start up up?
if not, check connector(RJ45) underneath platen assy.
I connected the I class should immediately recognize the cutter.
If it does not cut ever, check you format to see if the cutter is turned on in the driver.
I have seen some failures from wear on the bell crank that cycles the cutter.
