SOURCE: i have a frigidaire ltf2140fs1 tumble action

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Based on what you've described,...you likely need a door lock/switch assembly.

The door latch is likely the single most common fault (which prevent's any spin, and consequently drenching wet clothing at the end of the cycle) with the frigidaire/electrolux built washer's, aside from pump's being obstructed.

I think it fool's many people because the lock indicates it is energized on the panel, however the built in "monitor" switch inside the assembly fail's. I do see a lot of these particular machine's...unfortunately.

You should be able to purchase one at most local brick & mortar stores or on-line part's depot's such as "searspartsdirect.com" "repairclininc.com" to name a couple. They usually sell for about $50 or so, part # 1531974 ( # at repairclinic.com ) and are relatively easy to replace. It should resemble the image here...

As for replacing said switch, There are a couple ways to access it, through the top and squeezing your arm down the front or the way I prefer, remove the front bellows spring/retainer.

1) **unplug the washer from the wall...safety first of course.**

2) Remove the spring, get it started where the spring is located with a small screwdriver. Once you`ve got the spring/retainer off ( it comes off and on pretty easy by hand ) pull the gasket/bellows back away from the cabinet.

3) Undo the two screws holding the switch to the cabinet, pull the switch out ( there is just enough slack in the wires so don`t pull too hard ) and swap the wires from the old assembly to the new one and you`re in business.

4) To put it back together, just reverse the removal procedure. The trickiest part is the retainer. Rap the retainer around the boot leaving the spring for the last...and make sure the spring is located at the 6 o`clock position...usually. Just wherever it was initially.

Let me know if you need further assistance going forward or if my instructions are not clear.

P.S.
There is a slim chance of a faulty motor or motor control board, but that would not be where I would direct you to start...those are exceptions rather than the rule.

Thank you for visiting Fixya today. Good luck.

SOURCE: burning smell during spin cycle on frigidaire washing machine

Open lid as you would load clothes and hold the inner drum with all the holes in it. Give it a manual turn left, then right. If it spins in both ways the main bearing is gone. This is not a DIY because the new bearing has to be pressed on at a machine shop, or an appliance repair shop.

Frigidaire Affinity ultra capcity front load washer is not sencing the load it spins but the light stays lit on load sencing and will not fill with water! I have tried getting an error code with no luck!...

If your problem is No water coming IN the machine, then it is One of your two water inlet valves need replacing. Feel the water that IS NOT coming in. That will tell you which valve. Cold only water means the Hot water valve is bad. If the water is NOT leaving the machine it will not spin and you need a New drain Pump installed.

I have a Whirlpool duet front load washer model # GHW9150PWD. I have an error code of F 02 and SUD. I have so far cleaned the filter and the lines, replaced the pump, replaced the water pressure swith and...

6 - 1
DIAGNOSIS & TROUBLESHOOTING
SUDS DETECTION
During Drain Routine
During the Drain Routine, the water level is checked continuously. Normal drain will occur until the
pressure switch senses no water in the wash tub and there is no foam (suds). The drain pump will
operate an additional 15 seconds after the pressure switch reports no water or foam.
If the drain routine operates for four (4) minutes and the pressure switch senses any foam (suds) in
the wash tub, the Central Control Unit will start the "Kill-Foam" Routine. (See description of this
Routine below.) After the Kill-foam Routine is concluded, the Drain Routine will restart. If, after
four (4) minutes the pressure switch still senses foam in the wash tub, the Central Control Unit will
go into Failure Mode. The digital display will show, F02.
During Spin (Extract) Routine
During the Spin/Extract Routine the water level is checked continuously. If, during this routine, the
pressure switch senses the presence of foam (suds) in the wash tub, the Central Control Unit will
stop the drive motor and the basket will stop spinning. The electronic control will count the number
of spin repetitions that are attempted due to foam (suds). There are a maximum of three (3)
attempts for each Spin/Extract Routine.
Kill-Foam Routine
1.
The Remaining Time counter is stopped.
2.
The digital display shows Sud.
3.
The Drain Pump is turned OFF.
4.
The Central Control Unit will fill the wash tub with 1 gal. (4 L) of cold water.
5.
While the tub is filling the basket will tumble 1 sec. ON/15 Sec. OFF.
6.
Once the tub is filled, the drive motor will turn OFF and the basket will rest without any
movement for five (5) minutes.
7.
After the five (5) minute rest, the remaining time counter will restart and the digital display
will show the remaining time left in the routine.
NOTE:
If the Kill-Foam routine was initiated during a Spin/Extract Routine, the tumbling action
will be reduced to a cycle of 3 sec. ON/13 sec. OFF. If, at the end of either the Drain or Spin/
Extract Routines, a suds condition still remains, the digital display will show Sud.
Sud will also be displayed for a short period at the end of a cycle, if a Suds condition was
detected during the cycle. This will alert the consumer to reduce the amount of detergent in
subsequent uses MANUAL

I have a e ae please help

Good Afternoon Dan, thank you for your post!

Are you certain the error code is E AE? Is it possible that the error code is missing characters? According from my research EAE is not a valid error code. Meanwhile, let's try resetting the washer by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker to the off position. It is important to wait approximately ten minutes and then turn the washer on. If resetting the power does not correct the issue, could you please advise me of the new error code or if it continues to display E AE? With this information I can better address the issue at hand. Thank you!

Code e ae frigidaire affinity

If you had a real heavy load in the machine, before replacing anything, remove the bottom access panel (two screws) and check motor control board and see if the plugs are fully seated(top will be up slightly if they are pulled off).

Washer want wash

Hi Lisa Cornett - Typically error code EAE indicates a sensing failure on the line safe relay. I suggest having the power company check the frequency and voltage of the incoming water. If correct, for error code E5C, the speed control board will need replacing by a professional. If correct for error codes EA1, EA2, etc then more than likely the main control board will need to be replaced.

My GLTF1040AS0 front load washer has stopped advancing after the wash cycle.

Does the unit stop and display any error code(s)? Is it noisy in Spin? If yes to either your pump drain screen is likely cloged/restricted and the pump itself could be damaged.

AND/OR
Drain hose is pushed to far down into drain stack. This can cause a syphon effect were water drains while the unit is filling.

Frigidaire (LTF2940E) Washer starts, stops, starts, stops...

The cycle doesn't advance When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.
