I have been having this issue for about a year now. My only 'temporary' fix has been to switch my cable box setting back and forth from 480p to 1080i ...back and forth whenever the lines show up. Some days I can go all day with either setting and some days I may have to switch a few times. I know it is not my STB since I can get the same lines during DVD play which is using a component input just as the STB.I even changed out he STB just in case. I am assuming that the component inputs are failing somehow. What is odd is I thought maybe it might be a heat issue but I can turn the TV on after being off all night and have the pink wavy lines from the get go. Anyone know what might be happening?
Try doing a reset of the TV first. On Panasonics this is done with the TV on and then pressing on the POWER and ACTION (on the fron of the TV only) buttons at the same time until the screen blanks out or a diagnostic screen appears. Once you do this all custom functions (color,tint,channel memory) will be back to factory defaults.
