My Carrier 58dxc is making a loud noise

My carrier 58dxc is making a loud knocking noise and blowing out cold air. When I switch the thermostat to air the knocking stops and the unit works fine. It's only when I switch it to heat is when the knocking noise starts and the cold air comes out. Can anyone help.

If your turning on heat and the unit is knocking and blowing cold air, your compressor is having problems in heat mode, could be reversing valve. A tech is needed in your situation. Getting the prob fixed right away will save you dollars..

I have a carrier furnace and it seems to be only blowing out lukewarm or cold air and my house only gets up to 63 degrees

Make sure your filter is clean and that your heat registers are open and the cold air return is not blocked. So if you turn your thermostat up to 70 degrees is the burner shutting off before the house gets up to temp? If the thermostat has batteries are they new? Out side of that you may need a service tech.

My carrier hotel style heat/ac unit just blows cold in electric heat or heat pump setting

check the thermostat also check the inline fuse for the electric heat coil . check wires in control panel they tend to burn and last check to make sure reversing valve is changing over located by the compressor

FURNACE MAKING LOUD NOISES

My weathermaker started making a screeching noise and intermittantly would shut down, without blowing any heat. I found the sediment trap clogged and the induction motor was churning through the backed up condensation water. This slowed the motor down and the pressure switch would not stay closed. Unclogging the trap and hoses solved the problem. A bunch of water came out when I disconnected the collector box drain hose, along with gobs of sticky crud. Works great and is quiet now.
