are you trying to put songs in it? If so, check if the format of the file is either MP3 or WMA. If you are trying to put a file with other formats, (ex: .aac, .m4a etc.) this won't work since the device doen't support a format like those.

THIS FOR SURE HELP!!!!!!!Hi...I find the answer...Push and hold rec button and button for holding...And it will start..if your mp3 (a samsung yp-u3 mp3) says log val=0x10008018 or something, click and hold the record button and once it begins to record, press the back arrow/button (symbol in the top right corner). your mp3 should work (play music and such) now. to fix your mp3 and get rid of that log val message, you need to go to settings, then system, then format. format your mp3. unfortunately this will delete all your songs and files on the mp3, but the mp3 player should be fixed and the log val message wont appear anymore. hope this helped..
Push the menu button (the one one with the file folder) until "search" is displayed. Push the down arrow key 10 times until "advanced menu" is displayed. Push the right arrow button until "format" is displayed, select "Format ok" and push the play button. Problem solved.
Re format the player. It thinks that you deleted parts of the other songs. They do this from time to time. Go under Pearl options, and select format. It will delete all current songs, but when you load the new ones, they will play better.
I think your problem is that you have songs that are not MP3 or WMA format on the RCA Lyra S1010. They are probably mpeg4 (like iTunes. I know because I had done the same thing!) Make sure that you check the format before you put them on the device!
