Question about Sony Vaio PCG-N505 Series Laptop (1-418-527-21) Keyboard
Hi I recently purchased this item and have found that a couple of keyboard commands dont work correctly. Firstly the @ key does not produce the symbol but instead the 2 key when hit with control does prodece the @ symbol? Any ideas why this could be and secondly the £ sign does not appear at all when i hit control and 3 at the same time as it should. I hope you can help Alan
Hi, its easy to fix. you have your keyboard layout set to US Layout, ie americans have a couple of keys in reverse from ours. All you have to do is this Windows XP Start, Control Panel, regional & language settings, change all US Settings, in there to UK British, And it will fix your problems :-) if its windows 98/ME ETC start, control panel, Keyboard, and change the US Keyboard setting to UK British, u usually have to set it twice, ie select uk, apply it, then do it again before it changes... If you dont get it sorted will guide u though it just email me.. All the best John [email protected]

it depends what system you are running cetain programs and windows operating systems dont accept this shortcut
try going into controll panel clik keyboard and make sure hot keys are on
the only other reason is if you have eny other wireless functions running these can disrupt the signal from the keyboard to the computer turn off all wireless items and try agen
if none of these work try replacing the keyboard as it should work as long as hotkeys are on and the operating system you have accepts this function
