HI.THIS needs elaboration.on a general note i am assuming its running but not getting cold.1-check con/unit and should hotish.lack of refrigerant if it is cold and motor running.2-cond/uni cold and motor v/hot and not runnig.suspect motor.con/unit cold motor cold.suspect thermostat the motor.good luck hope it helps.Ali

    its not running, no sound, so it doesnt get cold...i plug it in and i get no sound at all. its a compact frige, haiser esrn046bb

    hi again.some very compact fridges have a small compressor.if so then again it could be stat or motor.if it is a AMONIA type fridge.it doesnt make any noise at all.opperates by heating the amonia on th huge pipes at the rear.if so itcould be the heater or stat.if both ok then it could be a bloackage in the system.the only shot in the dark is to turn the baby fridge UPSIDE DOWN.TRY ONLY IN AMONI FRIDGES OK? GOOD LUCK.ALI

Whirlpool Wrn38rwg6 frige has decided to not cool properly
My first thought is it defrosting? Look into rear of the freezer and see if ice is building up on rear wall of freezer. If yes manually defrost and let me know what you find. If no I would want you to feel compressor for overheating or look and see if a fan has stopped working while compressor is running. Sea Breeze

Your problem could possibly be a "defrost timer", which regulates refrigeration and defrost cycles. Or you could have a dirty condenser, which can cause the compressor to run abnormally.

Your evaporator coils frost up in normal use and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan.


Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help.
Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer

Freezer works frige dont unplug for an hour then it works .
I would suggest check the coils to make sure they are clean . Also check the fan which cools the compressor to make sure it is working . When you unplug , it gives the compressor time to cool down a bit , but after it restarts , it will get hot again and stop cooling .

Frige freezing solid
If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.
