We have an LG DLP model RU-52SZ51D which just had the lamp replaced under warranty by the technicion. We got the amber indicating light that said it needed replacing. I wasn't home but he told my wife that he needed a special remote to reset the amber indicator but had forgotten to bring one. Is this something I can reset myself? If so, how?
Thanks
Hold down on the Enter or OK on the TV and Mute on the remote control for 5-10 seconds. The TV should then ask what you want to do. Perform this with the TV on.

I just replaced the bulb/lamp on my LG RU-52SZ51D TV. It was fairly simple. Basically you have 2 screws that hold on the cover panel on the right side of the TV. Once you take off the cover, you'll then see a metal tray with a handle. That has 3 screws, you can then pull out the tray and see the bulb/lamp. The lamp has 3 more screws that hold the little brackets that hold the lamp in place. Last you have the 2 power wires. One is connected by a screw on the left of the lamp, the other is attached by a nut and a washer on the back of the lamp, where you would usually screw in a normal light. The two wires are just connected to a single plug to the right of the lamp which you can remove, you get the new lamp with the wires already attached. All you have to do is plug it in after you mount it back up. Here is the info on purchasing a lamp, sorry but I am still in the process of learning how to reset the lamp indicator light...

If the second light is blinking to orange or red, that is usually the lamp indicator light on an LG DLP tv. That indicates your bulb needs replaced, or something surrounding the bulb has failed (like the cooling fan for the bulb for example) IF you have a spare bulb handy, I'd replace the bulb, keeping in mind if you touch any part of a new bulb with your bare hands, you just cut the life of the bulb by more then half.
On my unit there's a panel on the lower right hand side, remove the 2 screws with a screw driver. Inside you should see a compartment that is metal and has a thin metal handle. Remove the Black screw on the top left hand side. Then pull the unit out with the handle. Inside the unit holds the bulb, just replace and go through these steps in reverse to place back together.
