I believe my son may have hit my screen with something, because the picture will not show up when I turn it on. There are lines all over the screen and a spot in the bottom left hand corner of the screen with "spider lines" coming out in all directions like it was hit. My question is, can this be fixed? The television is brand new and I have not had any other problems with it. I was stupid however, and did not purchase a warranty. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Susan
I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that is almost 1 year old. My daughter hit the screen hard with her elbow and I've got the same thing; a mostly dark screen with a few vertical color lines, a circle of light where the impact occurred with spider lines. I'm not sure if its repairable either just searching now to see if it can be fixed.I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that is almost 1 year old. You can have them repaired using a TV Repair guy but often it costs as much as a brand new plasma. My daughter broke my $1,600 LCD. It would have cost $1,200 to fix.. so I just bought a new one. After that I picked up a TV screen protector called TV Armor http://www.tv-armor.com Its designed to protect the TV from damage. Now I dont have to worry anymore when she is playing near it. It works really well.
I had a bravia klv46d300a broken screen.$3200 for screen alone.not worth doing by a new one. clam on insurance.once broken in the bin it goes or try sell for parts

Contact the authorized service centre for Vizio. A screen replacement will cost around 2/3rd of the total cost of a new TV; [price of the screen + Service charges]. Think more about it before do this repair work. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Perhaps you check all cables and connections. And look if all switches are in the correct position. He could heave accidentally have hit the mute button, or a button to switch to other speakers.
I almost can't believe something is defect inside the TV.
If it has no picture its probably not economical to fix, as the screen is the most expensive part of a flat panel......Might be able to find an exact tv like yours with a good screen but bad, say power board, or something on ebay, buy it, and swap your board into that tv.....cheaper than retail again....
did the ball hit the screen and is there any cracks on the screen or the screen broke? what had happened.you can get the power back,it needs some repair
Sorry this tv can't be fix acept replaced the whloe picture screen panel itself, the tvs screen panels are in of the limited production by the tvs industries, only can buy picture screen panel from the tvs themselves and it 90% important to the tv,will cost u the same as a new tv to get picture screen replaced.Sorry doesn't worth as a whole tv anymorre the tv now only worth as salvages tv for it electronic boards for spare parts for other tv,that it.
That probably happened because something hit the TV and broke the line for pictures to get through, or because a wire in you TV is bad and doesn't wanna work. This happened to my TV every few days. What I did is give it a few whacks every now and then on top of it and the vision came back, but don't try that if you think your TV is fragile. Yes I know its sounds stereotypical but it actually sometimes works.
