Neon Pink outlines around bright images

I have had this pt-61lcx65 for a year this month. I turned it on one day last week and my son noticed all the neon lighting outlining things that were the brightest on the screen and sometimes neon pink over some images in full. Had a repair man come out (75 bucks for just coming) and now am being told that I need a whole new sercuit board. Cost being 1350.00???????? that was insance. He suggested that I call panasonic and raise a frenzy. Do you see the repair guy being correct? He did not open anything on the tv. Only looked at teh screen. Asked some questions and that was it!!!

I have the exact same problem with my Vizio VX32L. Fortunately its under warranty and I should be able to have them fix/replace it.

I have the same problems on a Samsung LN-T5265F. I have resorted to turning the backlight brightness down and it keeps it from happening, however i have to sacrifice picture quality.

Had the same problem. Along with the spots from the EPROM corrupting. Called Panasonic and they had a local tech come out and flash the EPROM. Now TV is as good as new and I didn't have to pay a dime.

I had the same problem with the red/pink outlines around images. i fixed it myself by removing the read lower pannel with all the screws that have arrows pointing to them. then using a can of compressed air blew out the pc board on the left of the tv, if u r looking at it from the back. there is a spot in particular, where there is some chip that attatches to the board and there is a gap that was full of dust. after that was clean the red outlines where gone. hope this helps u also.

I called panasonic and they are sending a tech out to check the TV & repair it. My TV is 3 yrs old and they said they've been having problems with this model and are giving me a one time in-warranty correction to the problem. Try calling them. Good luck.

I was told by a Panasonic Dealer that the color engine has dust in it. The part is approx. $800 or $900, not including labor to install. I moveded the TV to a back bedroom & bout another.

You have a defective optics block assembly. If the set is less than 1 year old it will be covered under warranty. If it is over 1 year old try calling Panasonic customer srvice at 800-211-7262 to see if they will assist with the cost of the repair.
