Restoration disks The o/s install disks that came with my toshiba no longer recognise it as a toshiba and will not reinstall any of the software. There have been no hardware changes. Is there any way I can bypass the hardware verification step of the install process/make the install disks recognise my laptop?

1. Have you recovered the computer before? If yes, possible problem in the hard drive or CD drive.
2. Try to use another bootable CD.

You should'nt have a problem installing as long as you format the hardrive first, as windows can only id the hardware profiles once installed, but you may not be able to do this if it's only a restore disc. This hardware recognition process can be sorted easily if required to validate windows by going on line when installed and microsoft will read the o/s product code automatically and validate.

I have downloaded every driver from toshiba and intel as well as Nvidia heres the thing i have one ! mark saying network controler i have wired and it even shows i have wan but the wan wont work any ideas...

This could be very time consuming..
Remove this driver and rescan - let window auto detect and install driver - network install if needed..
Make sure you have Service pack 3 installed..

There couple be a patch fix that would prevent you from loading your drivers correctly.

If this doesn't work!!

The restoration disks would be the most simplest way of restoring the laptop.
