Customer does not believe that the set was knocked or hit, yet this problem has surfaced. Anywhere between four and eight vertical lines are on the screen. It looks like a video sync problem. Advice.

this has happened three times, we've repaired it each time at a cost of 700$ and it keeps happening!! we have heavy duty surge protectors, so that can't be the cause, it just works one day and not the next its a total piece of junk!!!

have the same problem with nec.noticed that if cool warmth applied went away until set turned off.tried freezing could bring lines back again .tracked down to certain area.thought might have been dry joint.but problem got worse.now is just coloured lines .every thing else works okay.when go to wide view lines will open up and close as you adjust screen.have the same problem with nec.noticed that if cool warmth applied went away until set turned off.tried freezing could bring lines back again .tracked down to certain area.thought might have been dry joint.but problem got worse.now is just coloured lines .every thing else works okay.when go to wide view lines will open up and close as you adjust screen.

What causes vertical colored lines on a TV screen? When a TV is showing vertical colored lines, a loose wire cable in the TV might be the cause. If you knock on the back of the TV, the vertical colored lines MAY disappear temporarily. This is a sign that a cable is loose or the T-Con board is faulty.
Sound like cold solder joints on the vertical output ic. The vertical output ic is usually a inline 7-9 pin chip that begins with la prefix. Not hard to repair at all just be careful not to touch anywhere near the anode leads to the picture! Basically it will knock the **** out of you. lol..
Replace the deflection board. Sounds like the vertical deflection was knocked out thats why you still have sound. You can get replacement deflection boards from www.tvrepairworld.com
this will more than likely be a video card issue. The bad news, on laptops, everything is integrated into the motherboard and and you will have to replace. Getting to the motherboard can be a pain.
This television, appears to have had a failure in the mainboard. This
is the board that controls the video functions and sound functions. The
unit should be taken or sent in to a service center for testing and
servicing. The service center will have all the correct service
information to determine the problem for you. You can call Insignia
customer support at this telephone number 1-877-467-4289. You can also
got to the customer support website at www.insignia-products.com. Go to
the support section and ask them for help on how to get service for
your television. I hope this information helps you with your problem.
Vertical lines down the center only means that you have a loose connection on the Yoke. Re solder all the connection on the yoke and where the yoke connection meets the main board.
You need to change your vertical IC, along with some capacitors around the vertical IC. Capacitor with value 220UF, 10uf, 470uf and finally 1000uf. Doing this will fix the set. Total cost under $40
Do you have a picture showing in the viewfinder when the LCD is closed? If not, it's a bad CCD and I believe Canon will fix that for free if you call customer service.
