My bafo BF2010 is not working... i need help. it doesn't have any whacked up part... (burned, or swollen capacitors) the fan is working... green lamp is ok when i switch off and the red light when on. Im using the USB port connected on a winxp computer (Pentium4 2800mhz) the Jack is OK (I have 2) the problem is that i never have response from my computer that a new hardware is connected. (no notice or anything.)
I also have a BAFO BF-2010. I'm looking for the drivers and have sleuthed the file names, so you or others can try and track it down. If I find a site I'll comment again with answer. Bafo BF-2010 drivers Windows: 2010USB.zip Mac: MacUSB0803.sit

I just tried the FireWire ports (not USB as before). WinXP (sp3) picked the drive up in seconds, no driver required (VIA chipset in my 7 year old laptop w/FireWire port). Transfer rate very fast compared to what USB 1.0 would be. Also finally found my OEM drivers... on the old drive I'm testing ;^D. Turns out the NT/XT driver is buggy for USB anyway. Finds then dismounts the USB connection intermittently. Very unreliable. New cable makes no diff. I would like to upload the driver and manual PDF but my previous "Solution 2" both removed the "add solution" window and the option to do anything else but post this comment. The FireWire device is found in "Control Panel > System > Device Manager" reports the device as "SBP2 Compliant IEEE 1394 device". The driver is (2001) 5.1.2600.5512 version of "sbp2port.sys". So, the best solution is to dust off your FireWire port or drop in an old FireWire card for under $10 from your local PC shop's surplus box. Happy Transferin'!!

I have mine, it works well but in a very slow data transfer. I looks like it is made for the very first version of USB, I havent tried the firewire yet. Try to go to add new hardware and install the driver that comes with the package. I am also using windows xp.
