Jvc xl z232 wont play burnt cd's

I am trying to figure out why some burnt cd's will play and others will not. Could it be the audio format of the sound files being played, or perhaps the cd's?

Yes that is very possible, if you are using different formats some players are not programmed to handle certain formats. It is rare to come across cd's that won't play, that would be due to a flaw at production and usually a bad batch.

If the audio Cd that you have is using a MP3 file format what you can do here to make it play with this play is to use WAV format because not all payer works with MP3 file format they usually only support WAV file .

Make sure you are burning the audio files in a format it can read. The standered is Mp3, but some times you need to burn them in other formats.

My cd's wont play and my ipod but radio works on my jvc kdr 520

Are you talking about just the audio coming from cd's and ipod? If so, are you using an amplifier? If you are using an external amplifier, you may be using the blue wire (power antenna remoter turn on) instead of the blue/white wire ( amp remote turn on) to turn the amp on. The blue wire turns off when leaving tuner mode, thus turning off the amplifier.

1998 silverado cd will not play home burnt cd's, I

When you burn a cd on your computor there are a few different formats to choose from. You need to make sure you burn it so that the cd can be played on devices other than a computer drive. Ran in to that issue my self a while back. Hopefully the program you're using will allow you to use a different format.
