A horizontal grey line has appeared on the screen - darkest on the right hand side and almost nothing on the left. It isn't visible on bright pictures but is very noticeable in mid to darker tones. It is exacly half way down the screen roughly where the screen is split when my kids use it with their X-box for split screen games. I was concerned that it might be screen burn but I am tod lcd screens aren't affected bny this old problem. There is no warning in the manual about using games consoles.

Run a half test. Put paper in the manual feed tray. Print something, anything When the paper is 1/2 way into the printer, open the cover. Pull out the toner cartridge. Look down at the paper. Does it have a black line on the right side? If yes, replace the cartridge. If no, replace the fuser.
Hi - I have just managed to fix this issue of grey stripes across my screen on playback on my canon mv800 by going into the audio format settings in the menu and changing the format from 12 bit to 16 bit - good luck everyone else! Sharon
from my experience can be something related with the video card. I recommend you the followig (Hardware diagnostics):
-Look for one of the discs that came with your computer, it should say (Drivers & utilities).
-Boot from the CD. If you don't know how to do it do the following:
1.Insert the Drivers&Utilities Disk.
2.Restart teh computer.
3. When you get the Dell logo, press F12
4.Select Boot from CD/CDRW-DVD (something like that).
-You will get a prompt to run the diagnosics.
-Just follow the wizard
-I recommend you to run diagnostics for everything.
-You will see if you have any problems with your hardware.
It seems that you have a pretty new laptop, so probably it's under warranty.
