Two problems with the TX-DS484 receiver (about 5 years old) 1. I have output to the speakers only in Stereo mode - if any other mode is selected there is no output. I have front, center, and rear speakers connected. For a while this problem was intermittant but now the only way I get output is in Stereo. 2. More recently the output level from the Video 1 input (from the cable box) is very low. Volume needs to be at about 75 where the volume from FM is about 40. I move the audio to Phono and the stero audio level is fine. Any thoughts - or is this unit junk??? Thanks.
Unit will not maintain the balance after the unit is powered off

Did you set all your parameters (see manual, page 15)? After that, you can then also change the levels of each speaker (page 16) also.

hi, i have exactly the same problem and no solution, may be buy another receiver
same problem, but no solution help us lol
We had this TX-DS484 receiver for years and it's works very well. Today while I'm watching a movie on DVD, I accidently touched a button in the remote control. The sound muted. I tried every key to bring the sound back but did not work. I don't know which key I had touched and what is wrong.
I know it has been 5 years. However, did anyone eventually figure out the problem... or better: How to solve it?!
