The ice maker on the Kenmore 59562990 only freezes a couple of cubes at a time.
Is the ice maker itself filling normally, meaning where the cubes are made gets enough water to cover the complete area or just a few slots? If not then check the fill tube where the water comes into the ice maker to make sure no ice has formed blocking the water from coming in.
Now if ice production in general has slowed, going from every 45 minutes or so to like every 6 hours, then your machine more than likely isn't getting cold enough. The ice maker requires the temperature be at least 10 degrees F or below for it to function properly.

I note your comment not helpful, however there is no cube size adjustment, and the the auger motor that dispences the ice switches off immediatly you remove the container from the ice shute, the flap then stays open for a further three seconds to allow any ramining ice to fall, the only other source of a problem could be the ice bin but this would be extremely unusual, I work on these units daily and can assure you that there can be no other fault. SOURCE: bottom not cold enough
did you remove the back freezer panel ? if not need to
is there a large anmount of frost on the coil behind the panel?
if there is thaw the coil with a hair dryer
if there is no frost on the coil you have a sealed system problem that will nee to be taken care of by a tech
if frost is on the coil you have a defrost heater defrost thermastat or defrost timer that is bad

Hello margrek
Welcome,
YOU SAID, YOU HAVE KENMORE ELITE BOTTOM FREEZER WITH ICE MAKER THE ICE CUBES SMELL
HORRIBLE ALWAYS, I EVEN TOSS THEM OUT EVERY FEW DAYS, STILL SAME PROBLEM
Ice has bad odor and taste.
1• Ice has picked up odor or
flavor from strong food stored
in refrigerator or freezer.
2• Water running to ice maker
has poor taste or odor.
3• Ice not used frequently enough.
4• Cover foods tightly. Discard stale ice. Ice maker will
produce fresh supply.
5• Add filter to water supply line. Consult a water purifying
company.
7• Discard stale ice.

Most ice makers have an adjustment screw to control the cube size. Its usually hidden behind a plastic panel on the front of the ice maker. A quarter turn either way and some trial and error testing should get you pointed in the right direction to your ideal ice cube.
