WHILE VIEWING THE DOCUMENT ON THE COMPUTER DO THE PAGE NUMBERS SEEM TO BE CORRECT? IT COULD BE A DOCUMENT CODE ERROR. SOMEWHERE DURING YOUR CORRECT PAGE NUMBERING IS SOME UN-NEEDED TYPING THAT IS THROWING THE REMAINDER OF THE DOCUMENT OUT OF WHACK. ARE YOU USING WORDPERFECT? IF SO, TURN ON THE REVEAL CODES AND CAREFULLY GO THROUGH THE DOCUMENT TO LOOK FOR EXTRA SPACES, UN-NEEDED TABS, ETC. THAT SHOULD PUT THE DOCUMENT BACK IN ORDER. TIM

How To Add Page Numbers to Prints / Copies on a Sharp Copier

This is a simple question that I am often asked, and I decided to put together a little guide on how to add page numbers in various programs/applications as well as from the copier's touch screen. Originally I thought this was something that could be dictated from a Sharp print driver, but it's not. It's accomplished by adjusting the settings of the actual document before you print it out.

Print Page Numbers Onto Copied Documents

1. On the Home screen, touch Copy

2. On the Copy screen, touch Others at the bottom-left

3. On the Others Screen, touch Stamp

4. On the Stamp screen, move to the Page No. tab, then choose the location of the page where you want the page number. You can also choose the pattern or text style that you want the page number to be on the left side of the menu.

5. Touch OK. Your copies will have the page number stamped in the position you chose.

Printing Page Numbers from Microsoft Word or Excel on a Windows PC

1. Open your document
2. Once you're ready to print the document, move to the Insert Tab, and choose Page Number, then choose the position where you'd like the page number printed, and the type/style of the numbering.
3. Your print outs will now have the page number printed on them.

Printing Page Numbers from Adobe Acrobat / Adobe Reader

First of all, Adobe Reader cannot add page numbers to PDF print outs. It's a READ ONLY tool incapable of editing documents. You'll need either Adobe Acrobat Pro, or software similar to what BatesNumberer.com offers.
There is a great video on tv.adobe.com that details how to add page numbers via Adobe Acrobat.

In Conclusion

Make the necessary changes to your document to add page numbering before you print it, or before you copy it. There are a ton of other great tutorials for Sharp copiers/printers at www.youtube.com/equipmybiz

I have a Samsung SCX-5635 multi-function printer/copier/fax & scanner. It worked great with my old IBM desktop computer running XP. However, a few days ago I upgraded to a new HP custom built HP...

Are you sure the driver is set to A4 paper and not Letter Size. Letter size is the default. Letter size being larger than A4 would mean the print would be off the bottom so you wont see it. Could be as simple as that.

My document has a cover and a table of contents. I want page numbering with one to start on the third page. I did do the page break for the cover and the contents and was able to start the document on page...

There are two ways to do this. The first way SOMETIMES works. If you don't have luck, try the second method.

Method 1:
  • Delete the page break between the end of page 2 and page 3
  • Position your cursor at the start of page 3.
  • Click on Insert / Break / Next page
  • Select all the text form page 3 to the end of the document.
  • Click on Insert / Page numbers. UNCHECK "show number on first page"
  • Click on <Format>. Make sure "Start at" is selected and the value is "1". Select <OK>
  • Select <OK>
Method 2:
You need to work with the headers and footers. When you are done, you'll have two different footer sections that are NOT connected.
  • Add a "next page" section break as you did above.
  • Click on View / Header and Footer
  • On the Header and Footer toolbar, Click on the icon for "switch between header and footer"
  • page down to page 3. Click on the "link to previous" icon on the header and footer toolbar
  • Click on Insert / Page numbers. UNCHECK "show number on first page"
  • Click on <Format>. Make sure "Start at" is selected and the value is "1".
For some reason I occasionally have to do this twice to get it to stick but eventually it should work. The key is to make sure you have two separate footer sections; the first section is page 1 and 2 without page numbers then the second section (starting with physical page 3) that has page numbers starting with page 1

I can't seem to print envelopes on the xerox workcentre 7345. I fed the envelope into the bypass tray, configured the settings on the workcentre as well as the word doc, but it gives me an error 012-255....

There is a lengthy set up process to that. I would recommend going ot Xerox.com, then at the home page, click on Support and drivers. When you get to that page, type in 7345, then click on the support home page, once there type in envelopes and the step by step instructions are there.
You are correct, setting up envelope printing on that machine can cause you to beat your head against a wall. The machine settings and the driver settings MUST be set exact. And it may take 3 or 4 tries, even for a service rep to get it all correct. Trust me on that LOL.
But once set up, it does a nice job. It is just very picky. Personally, I think it is way over designed just to print an envelope.
