Question about 2wire HomePortal 1800HG Router (1000400229000)

2 Answers

Help Needed! I think this problem has been reported invarious places acroos the tinterweb but I can't find a solution, its possible i'm not technical enough to understand though. Having set up my router it works fine for a few minutes, then I lose ethernet and LAN connections. I don't think its a hardware issue as the power light remains green. Its the ethernet and LAN lights that go solid orange. Any help would be much appreciated as I'm getting fed up with having to turn the router off for approx 30 mins to get about 10 mins use out of it. Thanks in anticipation. T

My 1800HG was doing this - it was overheating. I took it out of its case and could get more time out of it, but I never fixed the problem and ended up buying a new one.

When you say you lose ethernet and lan, they are both the same thing. Lan light can show orange when the ethernet card is not 100mbps but only 10mbps if it's an old ethernet card. Check that your router is set to enable DHCP to give your pc an automatic ip address and go to the properties of your ethernet card and ensure it is set to obtain an ip adress automatically. Check that Bridge network is unticked or the above will not work. Also check that the Idle time is set to zero if it is in the setup as this may be disconnecting you if you are idle on the internet for a certain period of time. There is another way to set up a router manualy, some come back if this fails to keep the connection.

Where is cabin air filter located?

Back in 97 lots of models without aircon didn't have a cabin filter.

Most cars have the cabin filter located in the heater/ventilation air-box at the base of the windscreen; sometimes there is a panel that needs removing and sometimes there is a flap to provide access.

Vauxhall cars of the era (they are General Motors too) often needed the removal of the glovebox to provide access to a cover retained by 2 screws. It is wise to try and get the best access possible as invariably a good vacuum cleaner will be needed to clean the filter housing and surrounding area while replacing the filter.

Lenovo laptop G460 is stoilen. Can i help from you?How It will be return to me from authorities?

Hi and welcome to Fixya!

The possibilities of having it return to you will soar if you follow the following steps:

1. Call warranty support thru this number - 1 877 453 6686
2. Report that the machine is stolen. If you could provide the serial number, it will be great.
3. If another person will call for any warranty or technical support for the reported machine, warranty support can notify you and report the caller to the police at the same time.

Hope this helps!
