Question about Canon PowerShot A400 Digital Camera

Camera hangs I cannot use the camera, every time I open it the screen is blank and the green light is lit on and cannot turn it off, there are times that I can use it but can only take only one snapshot and the camera hangs. I even removed the small battery a CR1220 and return it so I have to adjust the time setting, as I change it the camera hangs also. I'm using a NiMH battery.

    ok well after playing around this camera I decided to open this thing up, I only opened the front cover of the camera by removing the 6 screws (3 on the bottom and 3 on the battery compartment) and I turned on the camera without the front cover and examined if it does hang again, but I'm happy now that it's fixed and tested and does not hangs now.

Digital viewfinder not working
Sounds like a loose or poor connection of the screen's flex cables, a very common problem for your model camera. The A630's vari-angle screen is a great option for a camera, but with this moveable screen, the screens data and power cables can and do wiggle loose. The computer will start up but the screen will be blank
Try plugging in a regular computer monitor, if that works then you will need to open it up and check the screen's connection. if you get now lights from the regular monitor then you will need to check you ram/memory to see if it is connected properly.

I am using this great LCD for about an year. But few times in the past my LCD didnt show up the display though the Green light was still ON, turning off the LCD and opening it again always solved the problem. But now My LCD completely went blank. Turning off/on didnt work at all now. I've tried couple of other tweaks mentioned on this site but they didnt work. I am just seeing a blank screen with green light ON. and ya theres a very low hissing sound coming from the LCD.

Screen is blank
You tell me that you tried new batteries. Have you tried a set of NiMH batteries? They are the best for digital cameras. Please try a set, preferably ones rated 2200 or higher. If this doesn't help, the lens could be jammed. Hang onto the batteries though, because they are rechargeable and can be used in anything that takes AA batteries.
