Panasonic PT-AE900U projecting black vertical lines on image

My Panasonic PT-AE900U projector has started to display vertical black lines from top to bottom of the image.

They are perfectly symmetrical, about an inch apart from each other.Any clue what this could be? Is this the result of a setting that I canchange?

I have tried multiple inputs including VGA, etc, but it still looks the same.

Hate to tell you this, but the PC board in the projector is gone. Had the same problem with my 3 year old AE900. Sent it to panasonic and the engineer told me i needed a new board. The PC board along with a new dynamic iris (which i already knew i neeeded) was going to cost £672 (inc labour). It wasn't worth fixing as you can buy a new 200 for about the same price.

If you still have your warranty - then your sorted. Have to say the Panasonic engineers who are based in Cardiff were very helpful when diagnosing and explaining the faults.

My Panasonic PT LC76U has horizontal pixelated lines. See image at this link http://abigproduction.us/_images/panasonic.jpg

you need to check:
the Vga cables if the image shown is that from a computer
firstly check if the Panasonic logo comes ok in the beginning
if ok then try connecting a laptop directly thru a short patch cable to the computer port of the projector[i am assuming that the projector has been installed to the ceiling]
if this works ok , then the projector is fine!
you need to figure out the problem with the vga cabling and switchers if any of them are used!

I have the exact same issue with my projector and was wondering if anybody has an idea what the problem/solution could be? Have checked all internal connections, wiring, etc. but nothing is physically wrong with it. Powers on and off with no issues; bulb is working but no light out of the lens. Please help!

Panasonic PT-AE900u Horizontal Ghost Image/ 2:35 Image Retention.

It sounds like an Intergrated Circuit (IC) has fried. Even on a good day, this is not something you can attack at home. As a tech (and as an owner of that model samsung), I'd need a map & tools to know what's going on. Your best bet in this situation is to contact Samsung and let them recommend an authorized service center in your area. Sorry I can't be of more help, but this is a rather serious problem.

Vertical lines

Hi burton29

This is a common Mainboard failure with all makes and models of Projectors.

Will unfortunately either have to be replaced or repaired by a certified technician.

Thanks for using Fixya

Panasonic PT-AE900U displays black and white only

sounds like bad cables, or wrong setting on projector you may have it set to compoent instead of composite,, you don't tell how you are hooking it up. (what type of cables you are using)
