so you can either buy the Suzuki fsm and read about it or
read up on the mazda TDI controls.
id check compression first. (make sure engine block is ok)

you talking about the rear hatch or what..this is unclear...

if your supercharger sounds like tumbling rocks, it is the plastic coupler between the nose cone and the charger body; take off your serpentine belt; chances are the pulley has some play in it but it turns freely; the replacement coupler is a cheap fix; what gets a lil pricey is the labor to replace it... the buick has an alternator bracket that has to come off before you can take the nose off of the supercharger... dont forget to drain the oil from the nose cone with a spray bottle nozzle

If this is a Diesel then it could mean that you have a fault with the fuel pump - more specifically the Suction Control Valve, it's easy to replace (2 screws) if you can find the part. Alternatively Mazda can sort it but it's a lot cheaper doing it yourself. I recently had the same problem but fixed it after I finally managed to source the part.

yeh, mine did the same thing with a hydralic belt. it was the bearings. mazda capellas use a lot of 6202 bearings which, luckily, are fairly cheap, and are commonly used in pool pumps. so you can find them at pool pump repair stores. although pool pumps use 6202 2RSR bearings. these are just the water proof type, but are excactly the same size and can be used.
to test if it is a bearing problem, remove the belt and try to twist the individual wheels by hand, you should be able to turn the 2 smaller ones.
from memory the alternator belt is in a fairly in accessable postition so the belt is going to be hard to put back on.try other things first, like wiping the inner side of the belt with a dry cloth to remove moisture.
worst case senario is your alternator has, or is starting to, seize up and you need to replace it.

I have a Mazda Capella (626) 1998 and had similar problem other than it was running on 4 cylinders and the hand brake light was not on and the ANSWER was a speed sensor which is to do with ABS system needed replacing. You can determine which one is broken by putting volt meter over each of them.

I had the same problem with stalling & found the throttle sensor helped. It was only a $15 part @ an aftermarket parts supplier. You'll need small fingers to get to the few screws holding it in place. Also make sure it's positioned correctly before installing & tightening the screws.
