E02 Unit Insafe Guard Mode Error

When I tried to use my RCA CC6263 Camcorder I get this error on the screen. E02 Unit In Safe Guard Mode Remove Reattach Battery. I remove the fully charged battery wait 10 minutes and reinstall the battery. I get the same E02 Error. I then removed the battery wait 30 minutes and install a different fully charged batery. Still get the same E02 error. I never had any problems or errors on this camcorder before. Any Suggestions.

I also have the same problem with my RCA CC6364 camera. I hadn't used it in a while, got it out, charged it up and get the "In Safeguard Mode" message. It will record and or play for about 5 seconds, then it stops and the message comes on.

SOURCE: E03 safegaurd mode remove and replace battery? how

Make sure there is no tape jammed in the mechanism anywhere and carefully clean around the whole tape compartment with cotton buds and isopropyl alcohol to remove any dust and debris, particularly on the opto sensors for read/write and tape present. If this does not solve the problem, try a different tape and if it does not solve the problem then you will need to get it serviced. This is a real pain problem in JVC’s and Panasonics and servicing (which may be costly) or scrapping is the only resolution.

Safe guard mode, E04

After reading some posts elsewhere, I had one thing work. If you thump the camera on the side outside of the tape itself, it will stop the error message. There is the chance that doing this too many times will render it useless, but for a quick fix I found it worked.

Good Luck

Unit in safeguard mode

You mix te info with Write protected tapes.
Safe guard mode is caused by the motor that takes the tape out of it's case, through the mechanics and past the video head.
If for some reason the electronics detect that it's been done by too much force, the safe guard issue promts.
