Question about Hotpoint SY36 Style Line Stainless Steel Electric Single Oven

1 Answer

The hotpoint manual for the forno sy36x shows 3 buttons. Mine has 6 but with all the info worn off. How do I find out their uses?

I have inherited a built in hotpoint forno SY36X. The info has worn off all of the buttons on the front so I don't know how to use the oven or clock. The online manual shows the oven with only 3 buttons at the front but my oven has 6 buttons. Can you help?

Sounds like it could be could be due to a bad or loose connection..
You need to access the control panel, and check the connections.
If the oven is built in, then you will have to remove it from the unit.
Hope this helps.

Faulty switch operation may have caused the grill and oven elements to fail open. A continuity check would confirm this.

Hotpoint sy36x display works but fan and element not working, connections seem ok

You need to ascertain that the components are getting a supply to them.
You will have to remove the oven from the housing, and remove the rear cover to check for supply to fan and element.

Pressing the "-" button on the control panel will cycle through the 3 or 4 available beep tones / volumes. No need to press any other buttons during or before this process.
