I just installed a new Samsung SMH7178STD microwave for my mother. It started up fine at first but later that day started flashing SE on the screen. Nothing else works. Any grand ideas would be appreciated.
The -SE-error is a shorted keypad.
If you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.
If you would like to have us do this for you, we do that for $39.95 plus part costs.

Hi the se flashing indicates a fault with the your membrane switch [touch control/ touch pad. disconnect power for about 20 min and then reconect .it should reset if not replace with original part .ihope it works cheers

Reset did not work for me. I ended up having to replace the membrane switch. Samsung took care of it, but it did take two visits by the repair man.
